Drive thru set up is awful. Let me preface with saying that the girls working were very polite and kind, so this isn't reflective of them or their actions.
Why have a drive thru if it's neither fast, nor convenient? I'm okay with being sold out of two separate flavors - it happens and I get it. The logistical headache that comes with the drive thru is very poorly thought out though. I arrive and order as normal, and tell the nice lady she can just round up to the next dollar for a tip which she acknowledged. I was then handed a clip board with a full size receipt of which you would receive at a restaurant. This is a extremely slow and burdensome process on the customer in a drive thru compared to a handheld POS system or just bypassing the "Tip" option altogether. I mean really - if we are having a sales interaction that is no longer than two minutes, (for a single latte order) do we really need a tip option?
Then it gets worse, I place my order and am told that if another car pulls up, I will need to drive all the way around the strip mall, through a busy parking lot, around construction happening in the front of the cafe, and resume my spot in the back of the drive thru line before I pick up my order. This is extremely slow and cumbersome and is a huge logistical flaw when it comes to serving people quickly and proficiently in a drive-thru setting. I can understand MAYBE if you order food at the window why you'd need to park or pull around while they make it -- but for a simple drink order this ruins the whole experience. The coffee was meh at best, but would've been better if the experience was...
Read moreAbout once a week I indulge and pick up a latte and a breakfast sandwich from this little local place. I love the coffee and the breakfast sandwiches are clearly handmade, not greasy and taste 100% better than anything you will get at a fast food joint. The service here is always wonderful. It is evident that the employees are personally invested in the success of the business. I have never been met with less than a smile cheerful words. Today I called in an order for myself and two coworkers at lunchtime for pickup. I order the grilled chicken Dijon ciabatta. It was delicious. A large roll with a good amount of chicken. The lunch was accompanied by a tasty dill pickle and my choice of chips, fruit or yogurt. The yogurt option was a very popular brand of Greek yogurt. Real Greek yogurt, not the “Greek style” that a lot of places will serve you which is really just regular old yogurt with a bunch of thickening agents in it. The chip option was an artisanal brand that is good. (What I am getting at here is that you get good quality sides, they don’t cheap out on you.) My vegetarian friend ordered the Veggie and hummus wrap. The wrap was whole wheat. It contained a very generous helping of spinach in place of your standard iceberg lettuce which is great. There was a nice amount of a shredded carrot “slaw” on it that was very tasty. All in all this was a great lunch. We all agree that the food and value beats the chain sub restaurant that is very close by. We will be getting lunch here...
Read moreWhen I first did some research on this place I saw the amazing reviews and was super excited to try it out for the first time. Seeing some of the photos and the type of espresso machine they had (which is a super nice one by the way) made me think that this place was legit and knew how to make good latte. To my discouragement, I’ve had better experiences at other coffee shops, even the not so wonderful Starbucks. I try really hard to support local coffee shops, as I value a good cup of coffee, but my drink that was made for me did not have much of an espresso taste at all. I’m not sure if perhaps the espresso didn’t get extracted properly but when I got in my car and drove away and took a sip, I realized that my drink tasted more like sugary chocolate milk than a coffee beverage. If you like drinks that taste similar to a soda in regards to sweet, I encourage you to give this place a go but if you value the unique taste of different espresso, I would not recommend this coffee shop. It’s truly unfortunate as I would have thought if they put that much investment into their espresso machine, they’d know how to make lattes that are the right balance of coffee...
