Just two words - rude and unprofessional. Soviet era attitude. We arrived with my family a group of 5 people after a long day just to eat and continue our trip back to the city. Upon entering the restaurant, which was completely empty, the waitress came to us to sit us but almost immediately a man (assuming the owner) came to us to ask if we had a reservation, which we didn’t have, then he commented on the way I was dressed, I was wearing shorts and he said that he cannot sit us wearing shorts and that’s in a completely empty restaurant during the day not even evening in case if they had some event going on. Like it’s some kind of a high end venue, the place is just basic in the middle of nowhere anyways. So we just walked out without further conversation. I later looked up on their web site their policy “To enhance the elegant atmosphere, a dress coat is required for all guests on Saturdays, and Sundays”. Good luck with having people wearing a “dress coat” in 100F 😂there’s nothing elegant about being nasty to people. At least specify what kind of coat you want people to wear...
Read moreWe have been a regular patron of this restaurant for the past 2 years and at the last minute we decided to go for dinner on a Saturday in casual attire My wife was wearing a dressy blouse and capri pants and shoes and I was wearing a collar short sleeve polo shirt and shorts and sandles and no dress code is posted anywere on the entrance or on their website page. The owner was refusing to allow us to have dinner because he felt we were not dressed properly and we argued with him and he then allowed us to eat their. We had traveled 45 mins everytime to eat at this place and we will never go back again after the way the owner treated us and how he talked to us as if we were an embrassment to allow us to be in his restaurant dressed casual for a summer day. The owner made us feel unwelcomed while we were having our dinner. The owner lost us as a customer and should take a course in how to treat cusomers or contnue to lose more customers due to his own stupidy...
Read moreThis place is getting worse and worse. Service is horrible and not enough servers! Restaurant is overbooked with parties, we had to constantly call servers to ask them to clean the tables or change plates. Food is another dissatisfaction ! Chachapuri tasted like they were done 2 days ago, meat had so much spices on it seemed as they were trying to hide the smell, hair found in the salad and lula kabab was completely raw wrapped in lavash bread. The owner - George didn’t care, sits in his little corner instead of making sure his customers are satisfied. Music is terrible and singers have no voice! Sadly, Russian or Kavkaz restaurants in New Jersey are slowly deteriorating. I never thought I would write this about Mimino restaurant, but there was not one good thing that I satisfied me about this place. I was actually embarrassed in front of family and friends that came to our party. We will never go back...
