My husband and I went hiking this past weekend and wanted to stop for something to eat at a restaurant that had outdoor seating. It was so beautiful out and we wanted to sit out in the sun and eat lunch, it was about 1:30 when we arrived. I'm pretty sure we were discriminated against for whatever reason. There were three or four open tables on the patio but the kid seating people told us we would have to sit on the sidewalk (in the shade). When I asked if we could sit on the patio he said that they liked to hold those tables for larger parties. So they dragged a table from the sidewalk and put it pretty close to another table there where two others were seated. I have to say, we were about the same age. When I looked at the patio, every single table was occupied by couples, there was not one table with more than two people. So either it was age discrimination or the kid didn't like the patriotic shirt my husband had on. Whatever the reason, by the time we left the patio was empty with the exception of one table. I felt bad because my husband really likes the place, we had been there twice before, once last summer (and we ate on the patio - just the two of us) and once in the winter. Food is decent but unfortunately, we won't be back. It was a bad...
Read moremistaken orders costs wait staff out of their pockets. I ordered food, 4 prime rib dinners but unfortunately the gentleman taking the order has trouble hearing the order correctly and when my husband brought the order home I had only one lone piece of prime rib with 6 add-ons costing me over $60. I went up in a huff upset. The gentleman explained he didn't hear what I asked for, an honest miscommunication. We should have repeated the order. I was told I would get my prime rib given to me free on charge. That was all I was given so when I got the prime rib home we needed to reheat everything else. Before leaving it crossed my mind that someone was going to pay for the order. I found out the gentleman who took the order would be paying the $109 out of his wages. I could not allow it to happen and I paid the $109 on top of the already $60. It was an honest mistake and the general manager never came to speak to me. I found out by others that this was giving to happen to this young man. So saying something costs the wait staff out of...
Read moreWe sat outside on the patio and the waitress we had was wonderful.
We started with the Lobster Bisque and I didn’t expect much of a bisque from an Irish pub, however this was excellent with large chunks of lobster. I asked for a little sherry on the side to put in our bisque and the waitress got it for us. I feel that adding a little sherry gives the bisque more “depth” and a slightly more intense flavor profile.
We both had the Shepherds Pie. The portion is huge, granted it was more mashed potatoes than meat and veggies but it was wonderful. We had to take a good portion home with us. Anytime I have ever had it, the shepherds pie was always served in a lionhead bowl (the bowl typically used for French onion soup) this serving was twice the size and in an oblong serving bowl. Well worth the money.
We did not have drinks nor did we have desert, being too full from the meal.
Stop in here for Irish food, they also have burgers, sandwiches and salads that...
