Went to this restaurant this past weekend for birthday party. The place is outdated and the service was poor. One of the guests was late and they made us wait before they served anything. There was water on the table and it took one of the guests to ask them if they would please offer something other than water to drink after 20 minutes. When the bread finally came out it was stale, the salad was brown around the edges, the cold antipasto was made up a thick slices of salami and ham that you could have gotten from the grocery store and pickled veggies from a jar. The hot antipasto was subpar too, three pieces of calamari were soggy. The next course was penne with vodka sauce which tasted like ketchup and cream. I couldn't even eat it. I ordered the eggplant which would have been okay if they hadn't piled on the very thick tomato sauce which was the consistency of tomato paste. I don't understand how this restaurant has gotten anything more than a two-star rating. Being Italian, I am a little more critical but I haven't had a bad dinner like that in years. So either they had a horrendous day or it was taken over by somebody new. That is the only way I can explain the good reviews. Sorry it's such a bad review but I know my friend paid a good buck for all of us to be there and it was truly...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about Benvenuti’s! This place is an absolute gem for Italian cuisine, and every visit feels like a warm, old school Italian experience. The mozzarella en carozza is hands-down top-notch. perfectly crispy on the outside with gooey, melty mozzarella inside. It’s a must-try starter that sets the tone for an incredible meal. The chicken and steak arrabbiata is out of this world! The spicy, tangy sauce has just the right kick, and the meat is cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. It’s become my go-to dish, and My wife is obsessed with their flounder oreganata and capellini pescatori. The flounder is delicate and perfectly seasoned, while the capellini pescatori is a seafood lover’s dream. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, the staff is attentive and friendly, and every dish feels like it’s made with love. Benvenuti’s has quickly become our favorite spot for date nights or special occasions. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food that hits all the right spots, this place is...
Read moreWent here after a funeral for a family member and the experience was not what I was expecting. Though I understand we were a very large party and had a set menu but the food and service was very lacking. When interacting with the wait staff their answers were short and borderline rude. We inquired about juice for the children in the party twice and each time the attitude was abrupt. No I'm sorry we dont have that just "No we dont have a bar it's only water and soda." The food was under seasoned and the veal marsala dint even have marsala wine in the sauce it was a demi sauce that was just plain bland. The veal cutlets were so thin and tough to cut. The vegetables were just coated in oil with no seasoning. The egg plant parmigiana was good but soggy. The portion sizes were also very small and not filling. Dessert was a plate of a variety of desserts that was passed around each tables. So if you were the last person to get you were stuck with what ever crumbs were left.
Over all I don't recommend and thankfully won't...
