CHECK YOUR BAG BEFORE LEAVING IF YOU HAVE TAKEOUT
Placed an order online for a meal with two sides. When I arrived to pick it up, I asked the cashier who helped me (young, blonde) if a small cup of toum/garlic was included with the meal, as it's my first time trying out their food (and most Lebanese restaurants include this by default). She looked confused at my question, and looked at the receipt on my bag for a good minute. She then said it's not included, it's 50 cents. Was a bit disappointed, as I've always gotten a tiny side cup of toum for free with chicken kabob plates at other similar restaurants. But, regardless, that's not the point of this review. I paid the extra $0.50 and left.
When I got to my car, I noticed one of my sides was missing. I looked at the receipt on the bag, and noticed it has the side-dish circled with "OUT" in big letters. I was still charged the full price for everything. Now, I myself am forgetful. I get it. And working in the service industry is tough. Mistakes happen, things get hectic. HOWEVER, the cashier literally looked at my receipt for an extended period when I asked about the toum. She obviously, without question, saw the note. If it wasn't on that receipt that she clearly looked at, I honestly would've been way more understanding and not written all of this.
I go back inside, and that cashier was nowhere to be found. So I talk to a different employee there, who was very sweet and apologetic. She said she very clearly told the other employee to tell me that my side was out and I needed to pick something else. She apologized, and gave me a different side. So, the first cashier both was verbally told about my incomplete order, read the full receipt while handing it to me knowing she's not giving me the full meal I paid for... and then had the audacity to charge me for a small little 2oz of toum? Really?
The food was amazing, and the second cashier I spoke to was great. One bad employee doesn't make for a bad restaurant. But this was just such a completely unnecessary, careless mistake.
Eating out at actual restaurants is really expensive these days, and so when people eat out they often do so intentionally as a treat to make life feel less crappy. If I had gotten home from my stressful day, and opened up the meal that I've been looking forward to all month that I paid $20 for-- only to find some pieces of chicken and hummus... no. That really wouldn't have felt too...
Read moreHorrible experience, I came to pick up an order and staff was extremely rude to me. Other customers agreed as well that staff was extremely rude. There was a gay gentleman in the front specifically that I spoke to that was extremely unkind. Do not order from here (Update due to response) I never grabbed a bag off the counter they clearly have cctv unless there too broke to have cameras. I was turning a bag around to see the name on it and the employee grabbed the bag and said âno donât touchâ like Iâm an animal. And pointed at the sign. I said I was sorry and that I didnât see the sign and thatâs when others customers got involved with there comments. I was not instructed multiple times not to grab bags and kept doing it. You are completely misinformed. I went to turn a bag around once only and mind you this is the first time I have ever walked into this establishment I didnât even know which line to stand in or where to look for this order because nothing is clearly stated except for a sign that says âfree samples please help yourselfâ but I did not see any free samples around any of those signs that I had access to without having to ask. Defeats the whole âhelp yourselfâ part of the sign. People make mistakes, have compassion. You work customer service learn how to interact with people. I was never rude I simply explained that I didnât see the sign and like I said other customers agreed the employee was rude and they did not see the sign as well. Itâs not illegal to assume someoneâs gender or anything like that. people need to stop being so soft that was my description of the person that I had the interaction with. Sorry, if I miss gendered anyone, it mightâve been a woman. Also donât forgot carry out orders are what kept your business alive during COVID including the drivers, maybe have more clear pickup instructions in the store for the...
Read moreDefinitely on the list of "we must eat here at least twice a month or we might die". Been eating here for over 30 years. Admitting this makes me really old, but I think Woody's is the reason I don't feel really old. My favorite dish is the vegetable kibbie. Anything sandwiched between two layers of mashed potatoes has got to be good, right? Right. The hashwi is great. The skewers are great. The soup is great. The best hummus I've ever had anywhere hands down. I've actually never had anything bad at Woody's. That in itself is a glowing endorsement of any restaurant. I had the cardamon tea today. I didn't remember ever seeing it on the menu before. It was very good, but I prefer more cardamon in my tea. The salads are always fresh and the dressings are authentic. There are no bad choices when you go here. If I can't decide what I want to eat I go here because I am never unhappy with my choice. It's really that good. It is not a sit down and be served restaurant. You place your order, they call your order number and then you find a table. They have lots of tables so it is never a problem to get a place to sit. It is clean and open feeling because there are windows all the way around. Good parking. Not too expensive, just pricey enough so you know it is all made with fresh, real ingredients. You can even eat all vegetarian if you feel like it. Never a mistake to eat in or take it home. Just a word of warning - be prepared to wait in line on game days. It's just off the MSU campus. Everybody that graduated and moved away has been missing Woody's food. That's why we never left East Lansing. (Well, never far enough or for long enough we couldn't get our beloved...
