Our experience at this 99 in East Longmeadow was not typical as compared to the others that we have gone. it started off bad when we were waiting for 45 minutes for food and then our waitress tried to tell us it was only 18 minutes and then chose to argue the point instead of just showing some remorse and saying she'd go check on it. That set an unnecessary tone. Once the food did arrive it was lukewarm as if it had been sitting for a while. My dish in particular was a seafood trio in a casserole dish which should have been much warmer. It was cooked in in a lemon type butter crumb sauce that tasted burnt and loaded with salt. it seemed as if was turning in into a rotton vinagery flavor. Our waitress never came by to ask us how things were or if we needed more water, etc. Once we got the check we attempted to pay it but the waitress wasn't readily available so we went to the front counter and they wouldn't allow us to pay there so we had to go back to the table. I excused myself to use the restroom which was very dirty and unkept. when I went back out to the table my party had already gone outside and just left the bill for the waitress to pick up when shee returned. I went the front desk to see a manager and tell of our experience but none were available. So I told the greeter to give the manager the message. They seem a bit dumbfounded so I just left. The 99 has normally been a reasonable mid-range restaurant to go to but I think some need to be randomly screened for the quality of food and level of service that has been pretty good over the years but lacking in some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered food to go for me and a colleague. I ordered the $9.99 cod and shrimp and she ordered chicken tenders. I substituted my side for a salad. I have ordered this many times at a different location and always paid and additional $1. The server told me there would be an upcharge and I agreed that would be fine. I left to get the food and parked in Car Side To-Go. After waiting 10 minutes and not being acknowledged, I went inside. I waited another 10 minutes for someone to come over to the hostess station. I could see my food sitting there. When she went to ring my lunch up she told me the cost was $15. I asked her why it was so expensive. She said that because I ordered a side salad. I told her the salad was a substitute for my side. I told her the gentleman that I spoke to said there would be an upcharge. She said that you cannot substitute a side for a salad. I told her that if that was the case then the server I spoke to should of made me aware. She just shrugged her shoulders and then ran my card. I asked her to please get me a side considering I paid for it. She was snappy but got it quickly. The gentleman came back and put it in the bag. I also told him that I should of been informed of the price difference and he just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. After returning to my office, which is a 5 minute drive, I opened up my food. The fish I ordered was cold and my colleagues chicken tenders were over cooked and cold as well. Not the best experience I have had with the 99. I definitely will not be visiting this location again or recommending...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to The East Longmeadow location since probably 2007. You used to have to get there early to get a seat at the bar. Now not a problem at all . Lately the service is not good at all. Tonight I went there and had the same server as last time. Jill the bartender prioritizes the regulars from the rest of us. There is a wait for her to come say hello and offer service until after she gets done chatting with the regulars. You have to call her over. Tonight was no different. I waited for service, while regulars walked in the door and she put their drink on the bar before they had their coat off. A couple weeks ago, there was a guy that came in and sat next to me. He ordered ribs and a couple sides. He also ordered a glass of water and butter to go with it. She never brought the water, salt and pepper, butter that he requested . He ate his meal and was frustrated with her and expressed his concerns and she had nothing really to say to him. I felt sorry for him because the ribs arenāt all that cheap. He went to the front desk to ask the host for a change so he could pay his bill in the exact change and he left. As I said, Iāve been going to this restaurant since 2007 when Cory was the manager. When he was there, the place was packed and the service was top-notch. Iāve had many conversations with people and friends that Iāve met there over the years and many say they never go there anymore because the service is so poor That could be why there are so many barstools open. There are too many restaurants in East Longmeadow to deal with...
