My first experience with Smokey's was prompted by a recommendation in the "QC emergency take out and delivery" Facebook group, which was setup during the Covid-19 crisis of 2020. I have driven by Smokey's many times in the past, but never stopped by until today. I called them on the phone after looking at their menu on their Facebook page, and I ordered a Giant Southern BBQ platter that came with a hefty BBS sandwich, fries, and coleslaw. All of it was FANTASTIC and I will definitely be returning here regularly. They also have a nice curbside setup with very clear signage and prompt service (I pulled up and she came right out to take my payment and provide me with the food I ordered). Everything tasted yummy, was the right temperature, and was packed well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! EDIT: Visited again and ordered the Mac Daddy, which was phenomenal (not cheap but well worth it).

Very BBQ looking place with a bit of a diner vibe inside. Plenty of seating and good service. On appearance and service, it has the BBQ theme covered...except the BBQ I got was unpleasant and very overpriced. I tried the burnt ends. They had a chemical like flavor that my friend and I thought tasted like they used lighter fluid on the wood. They were also too chewy and excessively fatty. On the plus side, the Mac n cheese was really good. Very large portion with good flavor. I couldn't eat much of the burnt ends and we were shocked that our bill was over $70. This is not a high end BBQ place and has no business charging so much for sub par meats!

my first time here. i grew up just a few blocks from here and played on the fire escape on the building across the street. got the cops called on us for hanging underneath!! lol i was maybe 10!! this is a small diner. enough room for maybe 25 to 30 people. i had the BBQ pulled pork and fries. the bun was so fresh and the pork melted in my mouth. the coleslaw was the kicker. everything was fantastic. waitress was very attentive, prices were very reasonable. cooks did an excellent job! if your going to eat here i suggest you hurry as the place is up for sale!!

I never would have believed a bad word about this place until today.

I've been going to Smokey's for years. And I've always gotten the same thing, rare steak and eggs. And it has always been amazing. They've always cooked my steak perfectly, and treated me kindly. That's why I've always gone back, time and time again.

Today, my steak was overcooked for my liking, and overcooked compared to every other time I had ordered here. The first time ever. Not a big deal. But I mention it to the owner, so it doesn't happen again. And as someone who has worked in restaurants I feel it's important for the owners to know when something isn't up to their usual performance. I was polite. "Excuse me, I'm sorry, but..."

As soon as I said something, the owner scowled at me and began to argue that I was wrong about how my steak was cooked. I mentioned how long I've been eating there--always with the same meal--and never complained. And he continued to give me a very rude attitude and tell me that I was wrong. He offered to comp the steak, then to cook a new one. But the way he treated me throughout the whole ordeal was beyond rude and disrespectful.

I couldn't believe it. He had always been so kind and I had never given him a problem. I asked for my bill and a box, and he snapped at me about the steak he had started to remake. I reminded him that I asked for a box and my bill because I just didn't want to be there anymore.

He then tried to tell me that it was my fault the steak was overcooked because I ate my eggs and hashbrowns first, as if a steak continues to cook on a room temperature plate. I didn't argue the point, because he clearly wasn't going to listen to anything I had to say. I paid my bill, and tipped the waitress generously. Because, sadly, I will never go back here again after being treated so poorly over...

Had some business to do in Moline over lunch, BBQ sounded good looked online and found this place with good reviews. Pulled up and it looked like it would fit the bill. Good advertising, BBQ posted right on the side of the restaurant… burnt ends, brisket ribs.. etc. Went inside sat down the service was good very friendly. It was Friday at noon. I ordered brisket.. they were out… asked about burnt ends.. they were out…. But weren’t busy. I had to settle for pulled pork, I ordered coleslaw and potato salad as my sides. The sides were very bland and tasted like grocery store over the counter style and they gave me only a few table spoons of each. The pork was tender but also very bland… the homemade bbq sauce was good but they were very sparing with it so it didn’t add much flavor… after paying for my plate, a drink and the $2 dbt card fee my pulled pork sandwich with a little coleslaw and potato salad was $32 …. Absolutely not worth it…. Just came back from STL Louis last weekend were I had pappys smoke house that’s an award winning famous bbq place featured numerous times on the food network, the Steve Harvey show.. I paid $26 for a 2 meat platter…. Pulled pork, brisket, slaw, beans and a piece of cornbread…. and a drink that was melt in your mouth good…. $26 in St Louis… I couldn’t even finish… Maybe I was spoiled but $32…. The BBQ is definitely...

The ribs are good & some of the breakfast items are so so. I know they keep saying that times are hard right now so they had to raise the prices but I've traveled to a lot of states & their home cooked cafe's are much cheaper. There were some in California including San Francisco & LA cheaper than this place & if you go down South like Tennessee, Georgia, South & North Carolina & even Florida the prices at their little cafe's are much cheaper. Las Vegas even had cheaper ones as wel & Chicago too but I think if the owner lowered his prices especially on the breakfast items & they have specials every now & then he'd have much more business. This is the Quad Cities we don't have a lot of millionaires or any billionaires who live here & I think if we did then maybe it'd be different but this is a blue collar place & family oriented most of us are not rich. I can see the ribs, pork & steak being a little pricey but the hamburgers, other sandwiches & breakfast items don't need to be like that. They still should offer a special every...
