Usually, I am not one to go out of my way and write a review, but after yesterday, I have to insert my two cents.

To begin, I walked into this establishment at 8:22 PM. Upon arriving, I was not even sure they would be open (since they close at 9:00 PM); however, to my surprise, the restaurant was pretty packed for a Sunday night.

After walking up to the bar (where you place orders), it took 3 minutes to be serviced (this is quite fast considering it was a Sunday night). While placing my order, a young girl with glasses consistently "walked off". She even took a personal call during our interaction (that didn't bother me because I am young myself... so I guess I understand?)

I finally placed my order at 8:27 PM, but I waited patiently for over 25 minutes (3 tacos and queso). It is important to note, that from the time I arrived, to the time I left, only 3 customers (including myself) had placed an order. Why I waited close to 30 minutes for tacos is beyond me. However, I am more than understanding. I have worked in the restaurant industry, so I know how the kitchen works.

Back to my order, nobody informed me that my food was ready (I watched them place my food on their counter, but I was not sure if that was my meal. I waited an additional 10 minutes for someone to announce my order, but nobody called. I finally decided to walk up and ask about the ETA on my food. After rummaging through 3 bags, the young girl found my order).

All these red flags and I was STILL CHILL. I never once complained... why? Like I said earlier, I UNDERSTAND. I have worked in the food industry! It gets hectic, orders get misplaced, and it happens!

Upon arriving home, the 1st thing I tasted was the tortilla chips... BLAND and saltless. Moving on to my tacos... are you kidding me? That junk was flavorless.

I was so confused because the reviews were so positive. I am not trying to be a hater (and I am really hoping the food was only bad because I arrived so "close to closing"), but respectfully this was the bland-IST Mexican food I have ever had in my life.

I also ordered a side of Mexican rice and frijoles con queso (which were very good). If not for that queso, I would have thrown all 3 of the tacos away (2 steaks/ 1 chicken) because they had no flavor.

This was upsetting because I am a college student who doesn't have money wasted. If I go out of my way to spend the small money I do have, I would hope the food would be up to par. Overall I would rate this...

Updated Review 04-19-2023

First time back in a while. The food is still good. The prices were over the place. I purchased some shrimp ceviche they charge " $6.50 per Tostada" so the 3 shells that you see in my updated picture cost me $20 dollars 😭 it would have been nice for the waitress to at least say hey "It $6.50 each one".

The prices on the Menu doesn't add up to what was charged. Make sure to check your Menu and Receipt, seems like they are making up prices to run your bill up.

"BE AWARE" If you swipe your card Debit or Credit they will charge you a extra $2.00 so you might wanna pay with cash.

Debating about giving them another chance, I don't like surprised fee's and charges especially when you don't have signage or have your waiters or waitress explain things.

Old Review 2022*

The food is always amazing 🤩. The pitchers are kinda pricey. But overall a amazing experience. I would suggest to come and...

Today today is July 13th at 4:40 p.m. I had to stop by this Mexican restaurant not my first time nor second time. Love to support local. However the last 5 orders that I placed they've got it wrong right so today is going to be my last day of even supporting that Mexican restaurant. I'm sorry to say. Not only that they don't answer the phone so you can discuss about the orders that they did wrong. And then the music is too loud to even communicate clearly. So saying that to say today I had ordered three chicken taco grilled with fries crispy well done , when I got my food the fries weren't even halfway done and with the three chicken taco I said clearly no rice and beans they put rice and beans snyway. I'm paying 13-14 $15 a plate I would love that to be consistent and it's just never ok and I'm just so disappointed. You have to be thorough in your business. My...

Listennnnn, just come. Bring the family. I promise you won't regret it. We love this place. The vibes are on point. The music, the decor and the hospitality is EVERYTHINNGGGG 🤌🏾 But we haven't even talked about the food yet. It was so delicious and filling AF. I had to catch a pic mid-munch cuz we dug right in. I had fish tacos and my son had a combo with a burrito an enchilada and a chalupa (combo K on the menu) You can't beat the price for the amount of food you get. Less than $35 including the drinks. And the margaritas, OMGGGG, they sneak up on you lol. They don't skimp on the liquor at ALLLLL. It was a great experience and we will be back again and again. Oh and ask for Raquel! I hope I'm spelling that right. She was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Support Hispanic businesses!

Very disappointed. The refried beans were like soup, & bland. For me that tends to be the first sign of quality for a Mexican restaurant. If you can't get the beans right the rest of it's going to be downhill. I got the Chile Rellenos. I would say they were mediocre at best and unfortunately the cheese filling was likely processed cheese. It looked and tasted like white Velveeta. The salsa they brought to the table was bland as well. I had to ask to get a spicy one. That was nothing to wright home about either. One good thing was the corn tortillas. Oh other people complained about the music. Yes it was loud. It didn't really bother me. But the TV, by me, was on & the volume was up.. So I was getting the music , & the TV. That was annoying.

First time trying El Rocio. Called to place my order for pick up. The woman who answered was pleasant and accurately took my phone order. I arrived during lunch hours to pick up...place was pretty busy with what I assume is their lunch crowd. A crowd is generally a good sign. Food was ready like she said in 15 minutes. Everything I requested (side sauces, utensils, etc) were provided. Shrimp and chicken tacos were good. Also had an order of supreme nachos...decent as well. Service was on point and I also saw that they have a bar. Not a lot to admire aethestically. but since it's very close to where I live...I plan to go back to see what their margaritas are like 😋
