Young's Chop Suey — Restaurant in East St. Louis

Today was unfortunate and very shocking what I saw today. I was very disgusted how things were handled today by the staff at this restaurant and I will no longer be spending my money here. There was a homeless black woman that came into the restaurant. She was asking for money and food. The staff were yelling at her to leave. The woman came back in and asked for food. I offered to buy her food I had the homeless lady come up with me to order her food. The staff member told me no I was not allowed to order the woman food. Then he proceeded to tell the other customers that they were not allowed to order food for the homeless woman. Before the homeless woman could leave one of the older staff members came from the back and hit the homeless black woman in her back extremely hard. Before I could react another gentleman step in and defended the woman. The gentleman got his money back and went else where. This was very heart breaking to see how the Asian staff treat this black woman. I will not be purchasing anymore food from this location and I advise locals and new comers to not continue purchasing food from this restaurant. It was racism at...

Lived in St. Louis for 10 years and NEVER came to East St. In Ofallon, IL for the night so I decided to drive the 12 miles to try this spot after seeing the ChimeTime video on FB. The location is nothing to write home about but style wise, but this place was PACKED at 740pm on a Saturday night. They close at 8. I the customer service was 10/10. The young man even gave me some recommendations after sharing I’d never visited. While I waited in line to order, I noticed other people ordering extra egg, extra green onion… so I did too. Lol! The food was prepared fresh and toook about 15 minutes. While I waited for my food, I heard people asking for red pepper when they were called for their order. I asked a nice lady sitting next to me about the red pepper… she said definitely get some and add it to your rice. Now, I’m eating this food and y’all… it is so good! 10/10. I ordered half order of pork fried rice with bean sprouts an green onions which was extra. I receive shrimp fried rice (4 shrimp) no extra bean sprout nor green onions. Second order was missing bean sprouts an green onions also. I repeated my order twice to make sure it was right, protiens an veggies were all omitted and nothing but rice starch given In order meals. Establishment is set up in economically poor black neighborhood, I would have returned order but I drove 20 minutes to pick up food , I plan on never going back.
