Today was a special day as we celebrate the women who relentlessly have been our lives greatest “Cheerleaders” !!!! But today I encountered one of the worst managerial customer service ever!!! We were a guest of eight, when we arrived we were given a 2.1/2hr. Wait, which being a larger size group and being Mother’s Day that seemed reasonable. Once we were seated it took some time before our waitress got time to get to us. Prior when I had given the name on the waitlist I also told the hostess that we were here to celebrate my sister’s birthday and she said she would make a not of it and for sure let our waitress know. Once we ordered, we also placed an additional takeout dinner. One of our party members was given a glass of wine in a large visual crack, the waitress did apologized and we were given a replacement. When our meals came getting all the dips and toppings etc. there was one person in our party who had not received their sides which was a part of her meal. After informing our waitress, she said ok, about another 10 minutes went by got tge attention of our waitress to remind her that the sides were still missing, in all honesty about an additional 10 minutes everyone else in our party stared to wrap up before the sides were brought out! I asked to please speak to tge manager someone who wry loudly introduced her self as the assistant manager came ou and let us know she was their because the manager was busy and wanted to know what was the issue. When we first mentioned the broken glass we had been served wine in she quickly stated “we heard about that” then told her about about the missing potatoes she said unfortunately we’re busy and that’s why we had to wait, I told her that person not only didn’t get to eat with her party she had a half cold and half hot meal that she no longer wanted it! She was so loud I had to ask her to please lower her voice, she started stating her ears were all blocked up, At that point i requested to speak to the main manager her name was Alyssa she came out and informed me that she knew everything that had happened but unfortunately that’s all she could do! I am writing this extremely poor review basically of the manager’s poor judgement call! Our check for the table was well over $500.00 and after waiting 2 1/2hrs. Along with the rudeness of the volume along with the rude comment from the first manager that looked right in my face and said and if she take her meal home she’s gonna have to pay for it! Believe me you I and no one in our party planned to come into Maine Seafood and rob them of a $30 meal, the integrity of the staff was the bottom of...
Read moreI don't live in the area, but I had eaten at Maine Fish Market Restaurant back in 2022. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday (July 12, 2025), as I had a pleasant experience there years ago. Sadly, this visit on July 12, 2025, was anything but memorable.
Our server by the name of Karin G. -Caucasian woman with brownish/black hair and tattoos on her arm/ Table: 13 / Guest: 4 / Check: 105 / Time: Est 2:15 ish pm). My family consisted of 4 Afro-American. From the start, Karin was inattentive, dismissive, and seemed more interested in avoiding our table than providing proper service. When we did catch her attention, she would say OKAY to a request, but then ghosted us. I had raised my hand several times (they need to check their cameras) to try and get her attention, only to be ignored entirely. I asked her over six times for basic items such as sugar, which I eventually had to retrieve with the help of another server, and 3 times for hot sauce. Karin G was inattentive, dismissive, and seemed more interested in avoiding our table than providing proper service. We had to track Karin down for refills on beverages, that wasn’t refilled until towards the end of our meal.
Another insult is when the bill arrives. She stood at our table, finally giving us attention for the first time, clearly more interested in the tip than our experience. She left and then returned right away and asked if we needed help on the bill? What? Despite the poor service, my husband left a $15 tip. She huffed, rolled her eyes, and shook her head in a clearly disrespectful manner. This was the final insult. If she didn’t want the tip, she should have refused it.
When we were leaving, I asked to speak to a manager, but instead of sending someone equipped to address the situation, we were met by a young man who simply nodded dismissively. It was evident that he was either not a manager or not qualified to act as one. To make matters worse, my sister observed Karin G laughing off to the side while I was trying to express my concerns. Noted that the hostess area was filled with a lot of employees just hanging out.
I have sent 2 emails and a letter to Maine Fish Market Restaurant Management, with no reply to date. This complete disregard for feedback and accountability speaks volumes. They have lost a customer because of a culture that appears to tolerate such disrespect, and the food was not that great! I will not recommend this place to anyone, especially those expecting to be treated with dignity...
Read moreThis was my first time at the Main Fish Market. I'm from out of state and this restaurant came recommended to me. It was Sunday July 19th 12:00 noon, we took my girlfriend's 98 year old father out for his birthday. The host led us to our table and gave us a menu. The waiter came to the table and asked what we would like to drink and we all ordered wine. He left us so we could read the menu and get our order ready. Upon returning he took all our menus from us and said we had to use the dinner menu and not the lunch menu. We already had our orders ready to go and now had to start over with a dinner menu at noon and a more expensive. I made a comment to the waiter that this wasn't right and they should honor the lunch menu that they mistakenly gave us. He should have called over his supervisor to see what to do instead of leaving us unhappy. We ordered our lunch anyway off the dinner menu because her father liked his lobster. Number 2, next thing was they brought us our clam chowder which was not even lukewarm. I put oyster crackers in mine thinking it was okay. But it was too cool. The waiter Steven, took the soup back, put it in the microwave and warmed it up and brought them back to us with soggy oyster crackers. I don't understand why they just wouldn't give us another fresh warm soup. Number 3, the lobster came to the table and was overcooked and the tail was so tough her father had a hard time eating the meat. The rest of the meal I would say was fair, not great. Number 4, the waiter had no personality and seemed to be bothered by us asking for anything extra, like condiments or extra napkins. Number 5, her father tried to order the red potatoes off of the dinner menu as a side order and was told they only serve those in the morning. My question to the owner is why is it as a side on your dinner menu? I would never go back to this place unless invited by the owner. I would also not recommend it because of this experience....
