Since my days at UMass to Easter Sunday when, they surprised us, w/ a Vanilla Cream/Coconut Haystack Bunny cake to, MY DOOR!!! I've been loving on this great food for 20+ yrs. They are a 5 ⭐️ FineDiningRestaurant that's like HOME! But... even their pizzas works of art! Tons of unique combos, Veg'tn but just the dough is always perfect. I've found out 1 thing in my 49 yrs, 1 place makes the pizza dough come out cooked, hot, still soft but NOT CHEWY,(the dough should give you a jaw ache, capish!) , and yet I still get that 2cm of perfect crunch. I could have taken you on a culinary ride, of Sopressata and mozzarella, with star bread, and Calimari plates 3 people can't eat as appetizers. I could explain how eat Meal is like YOU MATTER in portion,(you'll never finish it all), & add the prices are below Fine Dining, very on point for reasonable you get their best every time. But I thought if I described how much I know, & love, about just their pizza, then maybe just maybe, you'd also assume, that along with incredible fresh daily Specials, (as in , I bought it today) and a Master Pastry Chef Owner who needs, "4 feet of clearance around him", when he's about to plate one of hundreds of Hand made pastry & desert Delicacies. (PleaseNote* This is authentic Italian 100%, every 1 made To ORDER. Prepared to your PERSONAL PREFERENCE, from scratch!! If your used to being served 6 min after sitting down guess what, the huge appetizers will keep you busy, Calimaré recommendedA+, & pizza eat there or take home. *but..Come to enjoy food & forget your stress, don't just grab a meal). The fact Alisa just stopped by to deliver a cake that was, an extra from there Sunday buffet,( hey I ate a lot of pizzas in my day! Whatttt!) I figured it would tie it ALL TOGETHER! Great service, fine food diverse cuisine-Super Kid Friendly, Johnny will whip up anything for you satisfaction, high end Artisanal beverages, as well, A Master Pastry Chef running the show. I think it's obvious my advice, but I'll add IT IS GREAT. {FACT: I literally made myself hungry writing this} (*Please know, although I am a Prof TopReviewer, Requested on both Amazon and Google+, as well a World TopRatedPhotog'r who lives here & knows his food, BigTime, I DID NOT, receive compensation for, giving a truthful review. One of very few FAMILY run Restaurants where every plate is your entire reputation! ( NO! not even the bunny cake was accepted w/ any obligation). LOOK I feel reviews should bring in the door, sit you down and serve you! and * I don't give bad reviews - I just don't review.(because I've learned in 29 yrs of serving Clients in WMass, it takes only 1 simple mistake, to generate a bad review, but 30 happy clients to earn, 1 REAL REVIEW) A 100% Of 100's of visits, & 1000's of Pizza's( I love pizza, What!). So HERE'S My summary: This Family run Restaurant is a generations old, Cuisine steeped in secrets from Italy. You Get more than you pay, {sorry if I see 'massive portions, far too big', differently. Cuz if smaller there'd be a, too small complaint post!}. Also with those large portions comes one last thing. A HugePersonality! Most nights From her 1st WELCOME, like you were coming BACK HOME, (always great w/ kids), Alisa is larger than LIFE. Understanding this, Her Brother and Her work to honor their Fathers Legacy, to NOT treat you like FAMILY would go against, Giovanni's ENTIRE Spirit.(MR "I came to eat, not asked how my day was. REALLY?). I call it like it is, many reviewers use neutralaity, as their 'trying not to offend', any other place,(WHO always thinks their the best). and ~THERE in lies the problem. If all reviews were good, to be nice, or based solely on 1 experience, It wouldn't serve the hard working people who look to be pointed to outstanding experiences in WMass. (note): I'm a 'Verified' business & Reviewer, W/ ethical STD's. I offer accurate review details. So head over, ' Go get some! Great food!' Families+kids, couples, dining alone? Signature Deserts alone are worth the trip! Enjoy! ...
Read moreWe were passing through on tour, and stumbled on this place. It was crowded so I said it must be good. The owner was at the hostess stand and shook our hands. A real friendly dude and you can tell he cares about his restaurant. We're from NYC and are obviously foodie snobs. We got the fried mozzarella, and they were banging. But To me an Italian restaurant is only as good as their tomato 🍅 sauce. When we were done with the mozz. I ate the rest of that tomato sauce, with a spoon. The sauce was so banging. I had to ask where do u get your tomatoes from? They import their tomatoes, they're obviously not going to tell me their secrets. My husband got stuffed shells and let me try it and once I tasted his food. I sat there burning with jealousy because I always make the mistake of ordering a salad. It's not the salad's fault - it was really good. You just gotta go pasta though. But I cheat the game by ordering dessert. The waitress Kate was hands down the coolest waitress I've ever had in my life. So on top of it. We didn't have to ask her for anything. Since we had a show to play and would be driving home. I asked for our cheesecake to go. So that at 2 o clock in the morning when we were about to fall asleep at the wheel - the sugar would wake us up. My husband made fun of me and said "cheesecake is not a car snack!" But Kate the waitress backed me up without any hesitation, "Cheesecake is a car snack." She set us up with forks and a lovely note reading enjoy your car snack. At 2' o'clock in the morning I ate the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life. It probably saved our lives. Thanks Johnny....
Read moreWe used to frequent this restaurant, but sadly, we will not be returning anytime soon. We arrived at 4:45 p.m. and were among very few people. However, it took over ten minutes for someone to visit our table. We eventually ordered our drinks and meals all once, but we then waited over fifteen minutes for drinks. All meals come with bread and a salad; we waited nearly one half hour for bread and a refill on a soda. Our salads arrived later. Finally, around 6:10 p.m., our dinners arrived on very hot plates; they were either reheated or they were under the heat lamps. My meal, alfredo, was fine; however, my husband ordered chicken francaise, which was not edible. The chicken was very dry, the linguine was both watery and only contained butter; there was no wine/butter/lemon sauce that francaise is supposed to have. He waited another ten minutes before the waitress arrived. Overall, she was quite inattentive. While his meal and one beer was taken off the bill, there was no offer to make something else or provide additional discounts considering we waited so long. The waitress did recognize how long we had been in the restaurant, but that was all. In addition, the table next to us were discussing how their meals were not as expected. Unfortunately, the quality and service has been impacted in this once wonderful Italian restaurant, which is consistent with other reviews and...
