Anyone ordering cakes should proceed with caution! My family and I recently had two horrible experiences with the Baking Company under the new ownership. In the last three (3) months my family ordered two (2) cakes on separate occasions and were extremely disappoint with their purchases. The first occasion was for a surprise 30th birthday back in October 2021 and the night before the party, the Baking Company contacted one of the family members to inform them that the cake they ordered weeks in advance would not be fulfilled as they didn't have anyone to decorate the cake. I can certainly understand the lack of employees wanting to work, however the Baking Company should have contacted them days before the party and not the night before. This left my family scrambling to find a cake the next day just hours before the party.
The most recent occurrence was over the winter holiday when my family ordered another cake hoping to have a better experience than the previous one. However, the cake that they order was extremely stale, hard, and unappetizing the night of the party. We certainly understand the troubling times our society is facing during the pandemic, however serving stale cake is unacceptable.
To be fair my family and I have lived in the area for almost 30 years and have been very faithful to the Easton Baking Company, but I do believe we will start looking else where when it comes to...
Read moreThe new owners are NOT community oriented and do not care about the people in the neighborhood around them. Since they have reopened, I've been excited about having a bakery again, but it's been nonstop issues with their customers AND delivery trucks parking in front of our driveway for long periods of time (literally with a parked car in it) and causing us to risk our own employment by making us late to work. We've tried very politely contacting them, as good neighbors do, to see if maybe they can put out a friendly advisory dissuading customers from doing this—they have completely ignored us! They couldn't care less. You'd like to think that a small business / people taking over as big of a name as the Easton Bakery would at least have the decency to talk to their neighbors. It's clear that their customers come here from other places, look around, and think they can do whatever they want in this neighborhood (ie, my building isn't that pretty, and neither is my car, so you think you can park in front of it)—apparently the new bakery...
Read moreI've been going here since it opened in the 80's. My family knows the original owners. I've always defended them against people who didnt know how good they were. I went back for the first time since it re-opened with the new owners. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. The donuts were well undercooked. I got my usual dozen glazed and 2 chocolate covered cinnamon rolls. I put some donuts on a plate and I noticed that there was actual liquid underneath from the glaze running. My wife ordered 3 boxes of tomato pie for our daughter's birthday party. Needless to say everything I purchased from them was thrown away. 97.50 worth of food. I will not be going back there. Any advice I can give them, Don't cook so much in advance. And stop cooling the donuts. KEEP THEM OUT!!!! When the donuts come up to temp the glaze runs. Making for a undesirable donut. PLEASE FIX THIS GUYS. They get 2 stars because the girls at the front counter were polite. VERY VERY SORRY!!!! Now I know why they had no line at 8am...
