Pros: Comfy bed, Air Conditioning, easy to walk to shops & restaurants.
Cons: Confusing check-in, missing advertised services, no sound proofing, rushed check-out.
We spent the weekend in Easton celebrating an anniversary and booked at Townley House for a special treat. We had high hopes for our stay, but were continuously disappointed. To start, the check-in email said nothing about the main entrance NOT being the giant street-facing door, but rather through the small alleyway off to the side. We entered through what we assumed was the front door, managed to find our room ourselves through detective work, and let ourselves in. The website and emails had mentioned contact-less check-in, so we figured this was just how it was done. About half an hour later, we received a call asking us where we were since we had not "checked-in". The employee didn't apologize for the confusion, or offer us our "complimentary champagne" or offer any other information.
The next morning we walked down through the lobby and entrance, but did not see any sign of complimentary breakfast, and the employee who greeted us at that time didn't offer any information either. We took coffee and found breakfast elsewhere.
The next morning we planned on resting and enjoying our last morning of the trip, since check out was 11am. At 9:00am, someone attempted to enter our room using a code that thankfully, did not unlock the door. My husband checked the hallway after he was decent, but no one was there. We figured it was maybe house keeping, who would naturally see that we had not checked out yet. But then at 9:30 someone attempted to enter AGAIN, at which point we were able to open the door to confront the person. They did not apologize or offer any explanation, just walked away. We gave up on our hopes for a nice relaxing last morning, and left well before 10am.
The rooms are cozy and the beds are very comfortable. However, if other guests are out and about in the hallways it is LOUD. In the bathrooms, you can hear well enough to full eavesdrop on whoever is having a conversation in the room next to you. The website also advertises "robes & slippers" - there was one robe with a $110 price tag on it in our room, and one pair of slippers. For a couple who was staying together to celebrate with a romantic getaway, this was pretty lackluster.
For over $200 a night, we had a high level of expectation for service & amenities. Townley House failed in what seems like the smallest easiest ways. We will not be returning, nor recommending to others looking for a...
Read moreWe had our wedding at this beautiful and unique gem in Easton! The vibe is so authentic and bright but yet so homey - I knew right when we saw this place for the first time that this is where we wanted our big day! We worked with Cassondra and she was incredible from the moment we had our first meeting with us till now! She is so personable which makes the wedding planning experience so much more fun and special! She was beyond responsive to any questions and went above and beyond the day of the wedding - my bridesmaids went downstair to help out and all came back up saying “ omg Cassondra is amazing” she is calm which makes every part of a wedding go so much smoother and special! All the plants , greenery and overall atmosphere was breathtaking and a complete dream. Cassondra recommended great vendors from photographer , cake to florist to everything in-between. The food was catered by Ocean and we were amazed how it got there so fresh , warm, presentable! And it was absolutely delicious. The staff at townley was the best - so kind and everyone always had a smile on there face! The staff was hard working yet fun and relaxed! There was a great energy - I am so appreciative to everyone at Townley and Ocean that made our dream day come to reality! Highly recommend stopping in to Townley for a top of the notch cocktail, a weekend getaway or hosting a gathering at this...
Read moreI chose to host my wife's surprise birthday at Townley House Hotel in the bar area which also opened up to the patio this past weekend. We had about 35 guests. I could have not been more impressed by not only our experience, but everyone who attended had positive things to say. First, Cassondra who was my primary contact throughout the planning was absolutely wonderful to work with on this. She lead the service staff the night of the party who were over-the-top helpful and extremely attentive to all of our needs. They even created a birthday drink from my wife when I did not even ask for that. Three people who attended commented that the staff was incredible.
The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed. The atmosphere was perfect - the doors opened from the bar leading out to the well laid out patio area, great for socializing with food and drink and enjoying some beautiful weather.
I was a bit nervous leading up the party as I had never personally planned something like this by myself. Cassondra and the whole entire staff at the Townley House Hotel not only made it a breeze, but totally exceeded expectations by making our night one we will remember forever. It is truly a special, unique place to host an event in the Lehigh Valley and would highly...
