Donna's Family Dining — Restaurant in Eastpointe

Went in to dine around 2pm. Was having small talk with the waitress while I was deciding what to order. That time is when the cook yelled from the kitchen thru the window. No talking just work. I looked back at him and said im not at work im dining. He said not so much for you but for the waitress. So now all the waitresses are quite, so me being me I try to finish up the convo and shes like well are you ready to order. ( this cook/boss whoever he was made all the waitress afraid to talk. So my dining experience was ruined by the cooks yelling at the waitreses not to talk. Let me remind you, that is part of their job is to talk, thats how they take orders and make there tips. And then the short cook came out and threatined me thinking i was somebody else I assume. Not sure what was in their water that day but im not going back! *side note to the employees. I brought my grandma here, she loves this restaurant, it was my first time. Very friendly staff, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was good, there was enough fries for two people so I suggest if you're just going for lunch order one fry and share. I had my very energetic 5-year-old son with me and they were very very helpful with him. She told him if he was a good boy and let us finish our meals he would get a little prize. I extremely was thankful for that!!! I've never thought about that but that is a really cool idea maybe to have a little treasure chest with little tiny toys the kids could get to keep them busy. I was in yesterday after 12pm, the staff was very attentive even during the lunch rush. Amazing food by the way, I had the steak omelette with hash browns, wheat toast and it was phenomenal!!! The place is a little gem not to say the least because it's banging. I would have to say the staff and restaurant itself is a 5-star establishment. Working in the food service sector for nearly half my life, this place is unbeatable with the service, food and ambiance even in its category of being a small restaurant or even a family dining restaurant. I haven't seen any issues like other google review comments but people should give the restaurant a second chance because working in the food industry is never easy and trying to please everyone is a job itself.
