I rarely take time to sit down and write reviews, yet in this instance I felt it was a necessity. First of all I want to make it clear that this review has nothing to do with the food served, taking into consideration that it is always great. However, the reason for my review is based on the awful and disrespectful service received from what I can only assume was the hostess. Taking into consideration that I have been an international student pursuing my bachelor degree at UWEC, I had family coming in from around the world to attend my graduation, and it was a natural choice for me to bring them out for lunch at the Nucleus, due to their always great food. Unfortunately, I regret my decision of doing so. Without going into great detail in regards of the treatment me and my family received from one of the employees as guests at this establishment, it was truly an awful experience. Not only am I embarrassed on behalf of the establishment itself, but I am extremely embarrassed of my decision to bring such an uncomfortable experience upon my own family. Having been fortunate enough to travel a lot within my lifespan and gotten to visit many restaurants within different countries, I can honestly admit that I have never in my entire life experienced such a distasteful treatment by a restaurant employee. Nucleus is a great place for food, as mentioned, but this particular incident was excruciating. It was truly unfortunate that this was my last lunch experience in Eau Claire, taking into consideration that I have now moved back to Europe, and I hope that no other guests will have to endure what me and my family...

My family and I walked in to get a table . As soon as we walked in a women walks up to us , rolls her eyes and in an annoyed voice and tells us that theres going to be a wait and that it’s going to take 30-40 mins to get food after we get seated . We said okay, I guess that disappointed her that we decided to wait . She then told us to go back to the cafe to get on the list to eat, she points us in the direction of the back of the Building . As we walk back there all we see is a closed curtain, bathrooms , and kitchen office space. So we asked a girl next to us how to get to the coffee shop , before she can even speak some man burst from behind a curtain that seems to be storage and yells at us and tells Us that if we followed or read a cardboard sighn (that says cafe on it with an arrow ) we would have found it . So we followed the sign through their kitchen storage area. We got over to space that leads to another two restaurant . When we tried to ask where to go, people just ingnored us or told us they didn’t know where we where suppose to check in . 1)how are we suppose to read the sign if it was behind the closed curtain, 2) the employees where all rude , 3)we have never been there, how where we suppose to know that to eat at the restaurant we had to check in at another, 4) why would you be mad at guest for being excited to eat at your restaurant all we heard that the food was good but after the fact a bunch locals told us the place is known for being rude but they get so much business because the...

Let me first start off by stating I do not normally write 5 star reviews. That being said, I rate the customer service, food, and atmosphere 5 stars! I looked up "breakfast near me" on my husband, and my weekend get away trip to EauClaire Wisconsin. I do not like most breakfast spots because alot of them have mediocre coffee, or mediocre food. Upon arrival I saw lovely art on the walls, and felt very welcomed. The staff was very welcoming, and inviting. The coffee was great, and the atmosphere warm, and inviting. I decided to put the place to the real test, and we ordered crepes. I the lemon, my husband the strawberry. Crepes are very easy to over cook, and usually I regret ordering them. Lemon is very easy to make too sweet with no flavor of lemon, or too tart with too much lemon. These crepes were INCREDIBLE! I used to love crepes when I was a child, but since adulthood I have never been able to find a place to make them good. The lemon was a perfect blend of sweetness, and tart. The lemon was not overpowering. Instead I found it to be refreshing to the palate. Dare I say perfect! My husband loved the strawberry. The crepe had Nutella inside, and my chocoholic husband loved it. The staff all helped eachother out. (Which is RARE nowadays.) They excelled in teamwork. They seemed generally happy to be working there, and working TOGETHER. They were so upbeat, and made us want to stay longer. I NEVER rave about breakfast places, but please if you get a chance to go and...

I finally got to the well-loved Nucleus and really enjoyed my experience for two main reasons: amazing wait staff and cool atmosphere in the one room (with all the couches). I also really enjoyed my food--pictures attached (which I finally remembered after all this time, before eating). Super A+++++ rating to wait staff: what I loved about all the staff is that they looked out for each other and seemed to work as a big, awesome team, not everyone out for themselves. I eat out a lot and this is rare. Atmosphere: Really amazing and comfortable--really enjoyed it a lot. With the beverages, I had a mocha which was delicious and also amazingly tasty. For food, I completely enjoyed the cream cheese/banana stuffed french toast with chocolate drizzle, whipped cream, etc. It was super great and the one thing that would have made it better is if the cream cheese was more whipped or a mixture like a cheesecake would be (think pastry). My husband had the blueberry pancakes and peppered Parmesan garlic hashbrowns. The pancake was a bit skimpy on blueberries and the hashbrowns would have been more awesome if they weren't actually peppers for the "peppered." We had both assumed black pepper, which is simply a misunderstanding. But they do taste very vegetable pepper. It almost took away from the Parmesan garlic aspect.

One of my bf coworkers highly recommended that we should go here for breakfast and won't leave Eau Claire. Oh boy he wasn't kidding. I literally extended my flight to try out this place The Nucleus. Since the holidays season are over the outside of the building is still decorated with holiday vibes. Anyway, the place is spacious and cozy at the same time. The employees are friendly and their service is great. We actually barely made it before they closed ( 2pm) so it was more like a brunch than a breakfast hours for us. So for our breakfast we ordered there famous El President, orange zest french toast and I ordered an omelette with hash brown.( IDK what my omelette was called but it had bacon, peppers, cheese, but it was good) . Their El Presidente is a must try and orange zest toast was simply outstanding. Also the amount of food they serve is great and towards the end we were full and had to ask for a to- go box which we ate the next day for our breakfast. But yes I will recommend this place for a good breakfast. Now I m back to NY and I just noticed now that they do serve dinner from 5-10 pm on specific days. Bummer..but I will be back for more on my next visit. Also if you go super hungry then you won't be needing a to go box.
