The Original Pancake House — Restaurant in Eden Prairie

So many good things; however, my only complaint is that it can get uncomfortably warm, especially if you are by the fireplace. I would prefer to be more comfortable with a cooler temperature than the aesthetic appeal of a fireplace. With that said, The Caramel Banana French toast , the huge apple pancake, their cheddar cheese hash browns, their steak, their chicken Chipotle crepe, the coffee is yummy. One waitress Ashley, in particular, is super wonderful, and is the most talented friendly funny awesome waitress I know. She's so friendly, very efficient, kept up with refilling my water and coffee (and I drink like a fish). She does a wonderful job of giving you options you wouldn't think about to help you get more of what you want to eat instead of foregoing something for another food item or try something new that you didn't about, etc . She also has her regular customers who absolutely adore her, so yeah, she's definitely keeper. : ) Additionally, I have come back a number of times and noticed that Ashley also has regulars who come in to see her because she's that snazzy and dandy. She even made me her special whipped cream one time which was delicious. the girl really does go above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. No wonder why I see her regulars frequently at the bar. The girl is not only friendly but she's more amusing to watch than the TV with her fun mannerisms and humor. : ) additionally, this place has a lot of gluten free options for those with gluten...

We are long-time veterans of OPH and have always enjoyed the delicious food. However, we will not return to this location. We joined the waitlist online and checked in when we arrived, then after waiting for 30 minutes, we went to the counter to ensure we were still in line to be seated and were informed that we could be seated right away but had never been in the line. We were grateful to be seated and thought nothing of it, but then the manager came over and began explaining to us that you have to check in at the counter when you arrive. We assured him multiple times that we did this and that we had been here many times before and DONE this many times, but he continued to condescendingly mansplain to us that it was our fault we were not seated. He interrupted us throughout and ignored that we said we already knew what to do. I have to wonder if this interaction would have occurred if there had been a man in our party.

We don’t blame the wait staff at all for what happened and were perfectly polite to the staff, since these things happen. But the disrespect and condescension from the manager completely tainted our impression of this location.

We will continue to enjoy OPH at other locations but do not feel the need to support this...

This the second time I have came here and it’s seem like it’s a longer wait for me n my daughter each time! The first time I call and made reservations over phone because online u can only make reservations for party of 5 or more. So I got there still had to wait an extra 45 mins. Now today I went online and put my name on the waiting list at 10:35 for a 45-60 mins wait . I called there around 11:28am and ask how long is the wait for my party of 2 and he said it’s not a long wait just come in you will be seated. So me and my daughter came in around 12:00 and checked in the men said it’s a 20ish minute wait so I said ok n seat in the waiting area. Now about two or three more party’s come n check in and there wait time is shorter than mins ! They got seated before me and my child. I guess since we was black we had to wait much longer than others which was not fair! It hurt me more explaining to my child on why everyone else went before us and we was here first! I went to ask the host he said they had a reservation n I’m like how when I heard the lady said she was checking in!! This need to stop!!!
