Jae Nails — Local services in Eden Prairie

The first few times I came in, the service was great and my nails were perfect. For reference, I usually get an acrylic fill with gel polish as well as pedicure with gel French. I found it weird that they don’t put any sort of lotion on hands or oil on cuticles when you get a fill... if I’m paying for a full set or a fill, I would expect that those basics are included. The next couple times I realized that my nails were uneven in length & thickness and often the gel polish would look lumpy because it was applied unevenly. The last time I got a fill, I made sure to point out each nail that was uneven and had to even ask for my cuticles to be pushed back and/or trimmed. All of my nails turned out super thin and one broke. Went back to fix & it just wasn’t great... new nail was uneven and I’m 95% sure the polish isn’t even the right color, but I could be mistaken as it’s a very clear pink. If I hadn’t already decided to go to a new shop the next day, I would be pretty upset. The two stars is strictly based on my first few experiences and the fact that they are all very nice employees, but the quality is just bad at this point.... otherwise it would certainly be one star only. Okay, so I came here for a full gel set before an interview I had at noon. My nails were looking ROUGH, I had about 7 broken nails from a previous set. I arrived about 10:10 but everyone was busy. Understandable, I didn’t book an appointment so I didn’t expect to be serviced right away. They did their best to hurry to get me in.

Around 10:40 Tom finally grabbed me. I was stressed out because I had an interview in a little over an hour. I have never had a full set take less than an hour, especially since I had to have my previous set of nails removed as well. WELL, low and behold he got the job done and he KILLED IT. We were finished and I was out the door by 11:30 with some time to spare before my interview. He did exactly what I wanted and executed it beautifully. I will go back to him every single time! I've waited for a day to review because I didn't want to leave a review while upset. I am fully unhappy with the experience of getting my nails done here. I called and was told over the phone that a full acrylic set with gel would be $55. I get there and showed Tom that I wanted straight coffin shapes. I left with a very curved set that barely tapers and are somewhat crooked on some fingers. I was never told that there was an upcharge for the length and I was given a bill of $65. Obligatory tip and I paid $75 dollars for nails that I just want to get rid of. Also during the nail appointment, the tip got bent on one of my fingers during filing and hurt way more than I was comfortable with and he basically ignored that I was hurt. I loved this salon on the few times I've visited before, but this experience has absolutely ruined it.
