When arriving with a party of 6 for the first time, there were dirty tables everywhere and about 5 or 6 servers standing in the back talking, not sure what they were doing. None of them greeted us. We just stood there for a few minutes and one finally told us that we could seat our selves. We also had to get our own menus. After the waitress came back with the drinks she gave my dad a diet dr. Pepper when he order a diet Pepsi. She then told us they were out of diet Pepsi. Ok first item they were out of. Then we proceeded to order. My mother wanted the vegetable plate. However they were out of potato salad and coleslaw, so she changed her order to the chill cheese fries. My husband order the two meats and two sides plate. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. My mom said the chill on the chill fries tasted like it came from a can. The platter with the two sides only came out with one. When we told the waitress she said that comes with two sides, so we had to point to the plate that we were missing the fries. We also asked for honey mustard for the chicken tenders, and to our surprise... they were out. After that we did not see our waitress until we had all finished our dinners and she had brought us the missing side of fries. This place sure does hold up to its name! You are definitely going to need some ducktape to hold this...
Read moreBest brisket in the Triad. Hands down. And we were a little worried at first. Intitial service was slow and the hand brewed tea was extra strong. (a real cultural favorite, not mine) But while we were waiting, we noticed how utterly, surgically clean this restaurant was. It is so clean and newly renovated that it makes the few older ceiling tiles left stand out. We ordered two of the two meat platters, and when they arrived we were blown away. I have wandered around desperate for brisket that is not beef jerky for the last 3 years. The brisket was gently seasoned with the fat side left on. Like you are supposed to. Smoked slow and low, with the fat cap LEFT ON THE BRISKET. Then the same surgeon who is running this place took the scalpel and sliced it paper thin, running in juices, tender as a lamb. I almost cried. Chopped pork was perfect. Smoked bologna was a brand new and spectacular treat for me. I would cram that into a Texas toast sandwich any day. Coleslaw was absolutely crisp, creamy and ice cold. Not warm, candied, and wet. Bbq beans were almost gourmet in their sweet/savory balance. The silky mouth mouth feel was a dream. Portions were enormous and well priced. Could not eat it all or even get to dessert, though I will next time. Eat your heart out Eden, you lucky suckers. We had to...
Read moreOkay... So, I've been eating here steady for a few weeks now.
This is a 5 star barbecue spot.
They actually read and care about these reviews so as a man of my word I'm here to shout the praises.
They serve a fair portion of the best barbecue in the county. The first few weeks I think they were just figuring out the market and whatnot.. They send those plates and sandwiches out with a good amount of barbecue now.
They figured their POS system out and they're getting the orders correct everytime now.
The sauce is GREAT!!
Flavor is unmatched.. Nothing in the county can touch these people's smoking skills.
I always order out but when I go in every staff member is polite and speaks to you and smiles (the smile is the best part.. Love to see happy servers). The owner will come out and talk to you about whatever you want to talk about and he'll crack some jokes.. I'm pretty sure melissa is a co owner and possibly ducktapes wife?? Either way she gives A1, top notch service.
These people are here to compete.. 5 stars guys.. Wonderful place to eat high quality...
