El Parral Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Eden

This is the 3rd time we have been to this establishment&had this particular waiter,no nametag so this one had glasses&bottom front teeth missing. When I ordered,I asked for a substitution of an item that I have had done before with the waiter/waitress in the last visit saying,sure,its a small upcharge but we can do it. This particular waiter immediately tells me no,then when I tell him I've done it before no issue,that's when he reluctantly allows me to have the meal with the substitution(I just wanted Pico de gallo instead of cilantro&onions as a topping for my tacos). We order my 11yr old daughters meal off the kids menu,which again we've done before. Nothing is being said to me about her not being able to get it for her or that anything will cost more. After waiting a bit when we finished to get our check,I get only 1 copy,the merchant copy..no customer copy..the receipt has 2 drinks at the individual price,a kids meal with water as the drinks entree with the discussed upcharge for the substitution. When he comes back for the payment I asked why we were charged for an extra drink by itself since one comes with the kids meal. He proceeds to tell me that since she's not a kid that they are supposed to charge for the drink. Never have I had this issue before at this establishment,or the Martinsville,VA location. Had we not been in a hurry to go to a drs appt I would have stayed to ask why this has become a thing but its odd that he didnt give me a customer copy when he gave me the check or when I signed the receipt. It made me feel like I was being duped&I was already feeling some type of way from earlier when at first he behaved the way he did about the substitution. Id really like to know why everytime we get this waiter theres an issue&why he's still there because we weren't the only ones having issues with this person during the time...

Great place, great food, very well run. It's always a good sign when a restaurant is packed, and this Friday night it was PACKED. But we managed to get seated immediately anyway. Chips and salsa are brought the table as soon as you sit down. The waiter was there quickly too, but didn't make us feel at all rushed despite the busyness of the place.

The food really is great. It's just...exactly what it should be. They even found some extra spicy salsa for me. But what's most impressive to me is how insanely smoothly this place operates. Talk about a well-oiled machine. It's totally relaxed and calm while crammed with people. You can hear the staff using shorthand on their radios, and I suspect that's part of the magic. They don't wait for you to need something. They assume you'll need things, and they're prepared to get it done, and they're communicated it all from the host to the kitchen.

This place clearly doesn't need my good review. We're new to Eden but obviously everyone else here already knows how good it is. We'll be back as often as possible, which should be pretty often because everything we've ordered had been...

This is the best Mexican restaurant that I've ever eaten at in the United States. Texas, Florida, NYC, anywhere. The dishes are absolutely outstanding. Even common Mexican dishes that you can get at any restaurant are done better here with better ingredients, better seasonings, and fresh takes on every kind of dish. Mexican food is my favorite kind of food and I have eaten at dozens of Mexican restaurants throughout the country. These include normal El Pueblo and Rio de Whatever restaurants. This one is the best of those, hands down. It is also extremely competitive with authentic taquerias and small family owned authentic Mexican cuisine restaurants. There's something for everyone here. I swear they don't pay me. I just love this place. The service can get a little bit slow just before lunch or just before dinner. Servers are usually helping prep things in the kitchen or simply haven't come in yet, and there may only be a couple of servers available at that time. The bathrooms could use a little help.
