Capt'n Chucky's Crab Cake Co, Newtown Square — Restaurant in Edgmont Township

As much as I love crab, I'm very particular about anything "seafood" related. For that reason it's a rarity that I'd patronize a place for the first time without checking the reviews. This time I made an exception and ended up regretting it terribly. First and foremost, the service left a lot to be desired. I got the feeling they were "doing me a favor" which really bothered me. My wife also pointed out some things related to cleanliness that made us both feel very uneasy. I can say with 100% certainty that the health inspector where I'm from would never allow it. Love this place, its staff, its food......when reading a negative review about the cleanliness I really wanted to reply to the writer. I think he/she must have been in the wrong store. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, the food is fresh, and new products are coming out recently which is really fun to try and test, all yummy by the way.A drive down Goshen Road to Delchester road making a left on route 3 and a left into Caption Chucky's is a favorite time to spend one hour of my time. I was optimistic based on the star rating here and the content on their site, but the crab cakes were pretty bad. We got the ones with the colossal meat and it claimed to have no filler. It did have more filler than I like but what it didn’t have was any flavor. The texture was doughy and mealy. The filler seemed to be just breadcrumbs and butter?
