D'Amico & Sons — Restaurant in Edina

We LOVE D'Amico!! Been going to this MN-based chain for 20+ years. Always delicious fresh food PACKED with flavor. As it is Italian, if you don't like garlic, go somewhere else. If you like garlic the food is DIVINE!! I highly recommend the trio of cold pasta salads - especially the gorgonzola chicken bacon spinach one and the Caesar. If you really like garlic, get the aioli for the bread 😋 🤤 We went on a Saturday at 2:30 and everyone there was so friendly!!! They always are but I want to give a shout-out to two special workers: We talked to a blonde cashier who patiently answered all our questions (said she'd worked there 4 years) and a man who I assume is the manager? (Balding man who wore a hat and chatted us up when he delivered the food - we LOVED talking to someone who knew all the good lore/background!!)

Hey management, please PLEASE reopen an Eden Prairie location!! My parents live in Prior Lake and whine that your Anderson lakes location closed STILL and it closed...

The manager was frenetically pacing around the restaurant the entire time we were there and occasionally loudly admonishing the rest of the staff (mind you, there was only other one group there when we arrived, so it's not like this was because business was hectic). As we were finishing up, he came over to scold us because the cashier had accidentally not charged us for a kid's pizza.

We hadn't asked for a free pizza, and didn't check our receipts to notice we'd been undercharged, so we didn't even understand what he was talking about until after he'd stormed off. I still don't understand why he thought it was our fault that his staff had made a mistake, or why he thought that was an appropriate way to approach a customer.

Walk-up counter to order then you seat yourself and get a number where they will then serve you. You don’t have to buss your own dishes but at least you get real silverware though no cloth napkins they are very soft paper napkins. All pizza crusts are thin and offer GF. Ingredients were delicious and I wouldn’t compare it to other sit-down full-service restaurants. It was a bit more informal than I had anticipated. I feel like it should be categorized has a deli and cafe on Googles categories. Small wine selection. I enjoyed the Decoy...
