Don Marisco — Restaurant in Edinburg

We expected more from this place, and understanding to the unique situation we found ourselves in this particular day!!! It was a quite day and we decided to grab lunch during our shift. We are Law Enforcement and didn't expect any handouts but we sat and conversed for a while and our food took a little longer then expected. We received a call for service at a High School that had gone into lock down. At the same time our foo just arrived and the waitress walked away when we confirmed the call. We didn't touch out food, when we told the waitress we had an emergency and had to leave "now" we did not have time to get to go plates or pay!!! I left my contact information and we responded to the emergency. We stayed on that call for 7 hours before ending our shift. We didn't have time nor was it in our mind to worry about food, our concern was the call and those it affected. Anyway fast forward to returning to pay, I came to explain the day but they still charged us for food not eaten. No worries we settled the tab and will not be returning to this over prices place. And hopefully I will inform others who have unique situations or emergency they will charge...

Today, on July 9th, Sunday afternoon, I went into this establishment to order a meal since the restraunt next door was closed, and the time waiting was expected from this Don marisco. The waitresses were confused and running around like chickens without heads, and the manager in store who was observing the lobby didn't move an inch besides to make sure a waitress was still moving back and forth. The food however I liked before this experience where this order of a Hamburger and fries was decently sized filling this plate of mine to the brim but now, with new management, I was told by a waitress that this was the new portion set by the manager himself. This meal is a kid's meal compared to what they used to serve, not even 2 months ago. Regardless of whether the burger 2 months and prior was an extra few inches and the fries had more than this 16 count, this is very disappointing. My wife and I went to go eat there on Sunday 2/18/2024. My wife had tostadas de ceviche, and I had Don Guicho rolls. The ceviche had a weird smell and larger than normal pieces, and a bit hard. With the Don Guicho rolls the shrimp were soft and the cheese was a different taste. We have eaten these to dishes at a different restaurant and we have never gone sick , it was the first time that I have eaten there, my wife had eaten there before. We both got FOOD POISONING and been sick for about 7 days . Be aware of what you eat . The restaurant needs to be aware of its food...
