Mi Chula Restaurant — Restaurant in Edinburg

In all fairness I needed to give this restaurant an opportunity before I decided whether it appealed to me or not. As I approached the restaurant at noon I noticed the parking lot was overly congested. Two surrounding businesses on each side ( the restaurant at the centre) had other customers as well. This parking lot is a recipe for a disaster as vehicles are parked so close together that it is inevitable that someone will eventually run into you. My advice bring an old car. I ordered a cheeseburger 🍔 combo which incidentally happened to be the lowest grade beef patty on the commercial market. The tea was super sweet ( instant tea lol ) I could not possibly drink it so I requested unsweetened tea. The waitress came back with a sweet tea again! I politely informed the other waitress what I wanted. 15 minutes later they come out and tell me there is no ice.Well by this time I just about gave up 2 hours later and I come to a harsh reality that my lunch time was just wasted on a bad meal and horrible customer service but what do I know I’m just a customer! This is a go to place for me when I want cheap, authentic Mexican food without a long wait. I love their breakfast here and that a lot, if not most, of their plates are under $10. I’ve gotten huevos rancheros with cubed fried potatoes and beans, their American enchiladas, their chicken flautas, and my husband has gotten their chile relleno. The waitstaff is kind and attentive but I’ve only heard them speak Spanish but they seem to understand English too. I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad plate here, but I will admit, sometimes the rice is a bit bland. The decor itself is like an old mom and pop shop with some TVs playing...

The huevos rancheros were okay for the price, for 3.99 you get 2 eggs, bacon, beans and potatoes.

The eggs were cooked perfectly, the salsa was tasty but the cook barely put any salsa on the eggs you can see how dry it looks.the bacon was thin and crispy, the potatoes were made fresh but tasteless, the refried beans were okay.

The staff was just okay, one if our servers was slow, didn't ask to refill our coffee, took them a while to get our splenda and couldn't heat up milk for the coffee.
