Texas Inn and Suites City Center at University Dr — Hotel in Edinburg

On the date of July 29, 2017 at 1am I made reservations for a room for a friend to check in at 5am same day to leave on July 30, 2017 at 11am (Sunday). I called Texas Inn after making the reservation I and spoke with the 11p-7a Front Desk clerk and he informed me that for my friend to be able to check in I would have to call Expedia to have the date of checkin changed to July 28. I did as the Clerk asked. My friend checked in at 5am and was "NOT" told that he was going to have to leave at 11am that morning due to the clerk's demand to change of checkin date to the 28th. The midnight desk clerk "SCREWED UP" and I was screwed out of $62.00 room rental. My friend got 3 hours of sleep when housekeeping banged on his door and woke him. He was startled awake and now unable to go back to sleep. My friend was told to check out. I called on 3 occasions to talk to the Hotel Mgr about this screw up and the manager refused to talk to me, but instead hid behind the clerks like a little child. The dayshift front desk clerk was the only professional on staff. He said there was no reason to change to reservation date. An early check in fee would have taken care of this and. It's sad that the Hotel Manager who is grown man won't even talk with a customer with a complaint. What a pathetic coward! I would never stay in this hotel again and I warn everyone I know about this "Joke" of a motel. I will stay at a "Motel 6" and get better service and a better customer...

Holy moly how does this hotel have 3 stars? This had to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my entire life and I am well traveled so that's saying a lot for me. From the moment I walked into my room, I was overwhelmed by the smell of mold. The rooms were all "booked" for the night despite the fact that I saw literally no cars in the parking lot which made me feel uneasy just seeing my rental out there in the open. There was no hot water and not even a liner for the shower curtain so it did absolutely nothing to keep the water in. There were stains on the chairs and furniture. Stains on the bed. I had to sleep in my clothes on top of the top sheet because I felt uncomfortable sleeping under the covers. In the middle of the night I woke up to go to the bathroom and when I turned on the light a TON of cockroaches scattered away. So it was also bug infested! As I sat in the bathroom I watched a roach crawl across the wall in front of me. I have never been so uncomfortable to stay at a hotel I PAID FOR in my entire life. I cannot emphasis how awful it was enough. Just spend the extra money and go somewhere else! I had to do a deep wash of all my clothes because when I returned home they still smelled of mold!! The person at the front desk was very nice, but that doesn't even begin to compensate for the horrible experience I had here....

NEVER STAY HERE. If I could give a zero I would. Had stayed at this hotel before they switched the name, maybe even switched owners. Walking distance to many fast food places, so that's always good right? When I got o the room everything looked normal. Nice bed, spacious room and everything looked "clean". Then found that both the shower and sink handle where compleatly off. The drains look like they havent been cleaned in years. The tube and sink itself was not clean. Didnt even have a stopper so I couldn't take a bath even if I wanted to. Dont use the vending machines. They are empty and will only take your money. Oh, the roches and earwigs like to come out in the middle of the night. Not just a few of them by the way. Turn on the lights and you see them everywhere. To top all this off I woke up and found dead roches in the bed. I SLEPT WITH DEAD ROCHES!!!! For almost $80 I would expect this place to be in...
