Aspen on 2nd Street in Edmond, Ok: Would love to give five stars because for about three years, it has been my go-to coffee shop. I love the baristas at the drive-thru but in the last two weeks, I’ve seen new employees and they are super slow. I understand trainees need time to get up to speed at their jobs but today, I waited 20 to 30 minutes at the drive-thru. If I hadn’t already paid, I would have left. The car immediately behind me, did leave. There was a young guy who I saw hustling and he was the one who actually made sure we got our drinks after waiting so long. Thank you for this gentleman!
Also, the other concern I have is the LACK of clothing that some ladies have on. It’s embarrassing to see baristas wearing belly shirts and can see they’ve got their navels pierced. I do not know where to look when the first thing I see is bare tummies straight outside my window, not to mention its not professional nor sanitary when considering they are serving food. ..What if a belly ring finds its way into someone’s food or drink?! Today, the young lady at the window had on a crop top and was NOT wearing a bra. I was concerned she would raise her arms. I’m sorry to write this because you’ve got some stellar employees that are pretty consistent with making the drinks you want but the lack of clothing and the last two weeks of new employees who have been slow, Aspen may start losing business and I would really hate...
Read moreI have been a loyal Aspen-goer since my time at OSU from 2006-2010 and I’ve always loved the coffee but especially the chai. Can’t go wrong with a dirty iced chai or a blended chai on a hot summer day. Today however I feel compelled to write this review because after many years of being a customer and spending countless Saturday mornings hanging out sipping my drink and chatting with my sister at the Edmond location, I was absolutely bowled over by the amazing service provided by Eddie! I’ve never met Eddie before today, but he absolutely went above and beyond. We were sitting outside for about an hour and after maybe 45 min out there with our drinks (and already coming out once to check on us— something we’ve never had someone at aspen do before) he came out with an ice water for each of the four of us saying he figured it was getting a little toasty outside and wanted to keep us cool. Needless to say we would die for Eddie at this point and can’t wait to come back to Aspen...
Read moreCoffee roasted from bean is usually quite good. The problem is every time I go I get a different "version" of my drink based on who's making it. Iced Mocha coffee, first time (guy) two scoops of cocoa which was very sweet so next time I ask for half mocha which was one scoop (tasted great) then next time asked for half mocha got half a scoop, a pack of sugar (???) which still didn't taste bad, then next time got half a scoop with a ton of milk, which I threw away. Still next half a scoop, milk first then ice... Talking to that barista she tells me that one scoop is correct for a proper mocha which is why half mocha is half scoop... uggh... So the first guy added too much and I've been trying to correct for that all this time just wanting to get the same thing every time, not too sweet, not much ice and not watered down with milk. What to do?
My wife, btw, loves the basic cup of coffee. Not bitter, great tasting. You just need to get consistency from staff...
