So, Virginia’s was a place recommended by someone local here in Edmond. You would almost have to be a local to eat here. I’m not even sure where to begin. It’s a seat yourself place with two waitresses. The tables are sticky and not in any particular order. We dined in on a Wednesday for lunch and the restaurant wasn’t super busy. While waiting for our food I was able to observe the kitchen and waitresses working. Jodie was our waitress and she took care of our needs. The other woman with the long hair was handling rolls and biscuits with her bare hands from fresh plates after cleaning tables and using the register. I waited for her to wash her hands and did not see it. This is my biggest complaint.
My second complaint is that THE MAYO HERE IS MIRACLE WHIP. I find it horrible that there isn’t a warning but I also know that certain parts of the country like it over mayo. Just be warned that it’s also the mayo used to make the homemade ranch. 😬 I gave them three stars only because of how they handled sending the BLT back. Not only did they make a fresh BLT but the staff was friendly and understood our disdain for miracle whip. Handling food without gloves can not be overlooked and automatically gets two stars in my opinion. I won’t be back and will not...
Read moreOne of my favorite restaurants in Edmond. There is nowhere else in the city with food this comfortable and homely, and at an exceptionally fair price. I mostly get their lunch items, such as the roast beef, or chicken nuggets.
The servers can get busy, so if you need something, you might have to wave someone down and ask for it. Despite that, the folks here are as kind and friendly as you could ask for. Julia and Jessica in particular really bring the whole place together.
The atmosphere of the building itself isn't anything to write home about, but the people inside more than make up for it. The walls and floor are plain, and you can tell the building wasn't made to fit a restaurant, but they've done a fantastic job making it work regardless. The food and friendly folks are why you would come here, rather than the interior. There are a handful of Republican-leaning bits of decor, but as a more left-leaning individual, I've never felt othered or judged by the staff themselves, which to me is what's important.
Overall, if you're looking for a local business to support instead of going down to IHOP, I highly recommend...
Read moreThe worst experience ive ever had. I should have known to leave as soon as i walked in. We were never greeted when we walked in. After our drinks arrived we were ignored. Our food took a really long time to come out and i can understand that if its busy but i would like my food all together not spaced out over 30 minutes my eggs and hash browns came out first and we had to just look at them for a while before we could grab our waitress attention to get silverware. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside and cold. Then it took me multiple asks to get my sausage and bacon which also came out at Separate times. My husbands food was almost as bad. His scrambled eggs were greasy and the waffles were burnt and cold on the inside. Unless they fix the kitchen and staff issues i dont...
