I got a coxinha and a risole de carne. I'm not an expert on Brazilian food, but I have had these two items at another Brazilian cafe just up the street. I feel like they were much better at the other place.
I didn't think these were well seasoned here, and I didn't care for the sauces. The other place served them with ketchup and mayo packets, had a nice crispy texture, and more flavor. These were a little gummy around the edges. Especially the risole de carne.
I'll reiterate, I don't know which version is more traditional. I just know which version I like better.
I didn't really like the takeout ordering system either. I feel like it was unnecessary, and the machine was out of receipt paper, so I had to give my email to get a receipt. Suspect?
Then they didn't seem to have my order, two or so minutes later. So the automatic system didn't seem to work well. And I'm not complaining about the wait, but I'll mention that it seemed a little long considering the items were already made and just had to be put in a box...
I was not in a hurry, just an observation. At the other place, I could have just walked in and said, "I'd like one of those, and one of those please." Here it was more like, I did the machine ordering, walked further in, and was like, "Um, I just ordered a couple minutes ago..." They seemed confused. I wasn't sure what I was meant to do or where to wait. And the wait was about 5 minutes.
It's probably better if you go there for sot down table service. But the takeout system needs work in my opinion. And the two food items I tried did not make a good impression on me. Maybe they have better options.
I leave this type of review as much to help people like me make decisions, as to try to help the establishment know what didn't work well for me. Basically, y'all, that system you're trying to do for takeout is not great for the customers. I know the space is limited and it gets busy. But the solution you're currently trying does not make me feel like coming back.
And at the end of the day, the food can make it worth it. Not for me this time. All...
Read moreThe overall experience was ok!! We ordered feijoada and picanha.. The dishes are well served, the feijoada was amazing and the picanha was a little dull and tasteless.. The juices were very thick and good!! The "salgados assados" not so much.. We ordered some to take home and they were super dry and heavy, with a lot of dough and not enough stuffing!! The "bolos de pote" were fine, I mean, if having literally two small slices of a strawberry in the strawberry ninho one sounds like what you serve there.. Never thought I would eat less than one strawberry in an entire container of what was supposed to be a strawberry cake (look at the picture I uploaded.. That was half of all the strawberry there was in the cake!! Hahaha)!! Guys, I can give you a box of strawberries if you can't afford to put more than half a unit inside of the cake, you know?! I would probably go back for the Brazilian dishes, but no salgados or bolos de...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this gem of a restaurant in El Cerrito, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The Milanese beef was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, while the Brazilian strogonoff was a flavorful delight that truly captured the essence of homemade Brazilian cuisine.
What struck me the most were the generous portions served on big plates, reflecting the genuine homemade-style dining experience. The cordial attention from the staff members made the meal even more enjoyable, adding a warm touch to the already inviting ambiance.
If you're craving authentic Brazilian food in El Cerrito, this place is an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their tantalizing...
