So I went in today after a long time, I used to live in San Pablo so I really liked grabbing some lunch here and heading to work but now remember what made me stop coming to this place. The food is what kept me coming they have great tasting great quality food. The customer service with the gentleman on the phone today was great very professional and respectful but once I arrived there was an older Hispanic woman behind the counter that didn’t even say hi to me she just looked at me up and down and said “can I help you” but it such a tone that made it sound like I wasn’t there for what I was there for even after I said hi, I remember her she’s been there for some time. There was a white couple sitting enjoying their lunch the atmosphere felt a little tense once I walked in I don’t know why maybe I could have done a little something with my appearance today I don’t know. I told her yes I’m here to pick up my turkey burger order, she just rolled her eyes and started packing my order, I asked her if I could get some ranch and she ignored me, she mentioned something about my drink and I asked her again if I can get some ranch and she got very snappy with me and said “yes we do what kind of drink do you want?!” I had to take a step back because I was like woah what did I do for this kind of treatment i literally just walked in but anyways I kept my composure and said “oh some lemonade please.” And she proceeded to pour my drink. She went to pack my fries inside my bag and she literally just flopped my order onto the counter. I didn’t say anything because I’m not the type of person to escalate things. She went ahead and got me one cup of ranch and I asked if I could get two more . She told me that she couldn’t give me that much that she will have to charge me I said that that was fine and she audibly sighed she was verbally and visibly unhappy with serving me I really don’t know why.. she charged be $5 extra for 3 cups of ranch . I let it go because I’m not going to waste time arguing or escalating this over some ranch. My last straw was her grabbing my order and literally just flopped my bag like I’d say a couple ft away from me and said there’s your order have a nice day . Instead of handing it to me like a normal person would she placed it a couple of feet away from me for me to grab it myself . I grabbed my order I even said thank you but in Spanish (gracias) and walked out thinking to myself like dang what is it about me that she hates? Were both Spanish speakers, maybe she’s that kind of latina that only likes white ppl? Idk I didn’t want to go there but my mind wondered. I literally felt hated and I’m a 30 year old man so boohoo right? I just swallowed my pride and here I am writing this review. The food is great and this place has been a great success but that woman should get checked because I’d hate for her to treat someone else this way for no...
Read moreTerrible. One of the cooks (a man bothered and impatient) had overheard the basic conversation of (myself and the patient lady cashier/server who was doing her job to the best of her ability), writing down my order and checking it by repeating to each other (aloud) about 2 times making sure we heard each other correct and Getting it Right.. and She Got It Right. (upset cook) dumped all my fries out from all 3 bags and refilled each bag 1/3rd way. PAID Full Price for less than the food served. The take out order I made for my family: 7 Hamburger and 3 Large Fries. Have Not been there since. WILL NOT return. Definitely not the same. Everyone needs there job. But I am a PAYING customer. I handed the cash that I earned working my jobs. I work hard just like everyone else to pay for and provide food for my family. Look I get it, I really do.. I understand the stress of every job.. but no ... and I PAID. Saddened by this, because I'm missing the previous owners, thinking of them knowing it wasn't easy for them then but they served their community with their whole heart. I'm remembering how this location was my family's ONLY favorite go-to spot. My grandmother approved. We would sit inside on the circle chairs, huddle around the table, stare at the pretty coca cola wall paper, sharing our day/enjoying our stories with each other, sipping on a chocolate milkshake or can of coke light on the ice, waiting for the big ol hamburgers and chubby fries our lunch or dinner all throughout my kid-teen-young adult years. My unforgettable memories .. a treat our fam looked forward to. That's all. I...
Read moreIf you’re a burger lover or a foodie searching for your next must-try spot, look no further than this hidden gem in El Cerrito. While it’s a small, cozy spot with seating for about 20, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in flavor and personality. Trust me, this place serves up the best burgers in town, hands down!
The menu is straightforward, but the flavors are anything but ordinary. The burgers are cooked to perfection—thick, juicy, and bursting with that straight-off-the-grill goodness. My go-to order? A double bacon cheeseburger with everything, plus a fried egg, pineapple, and grilled onions. It’s a flavor bomb that’ll have your taste buds doing a happy dance. The combination of savory, smoky, and sweet is next level.
The fries are equally impressive. Lightly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside, they’re the perfect sidekick to those amazing burgers. You’ll definitely want to grab a few extra to share—or not!
The staff here are as awesome as the food. They’re friendly, efficient, and seem to have a knack for getting your order out in no time. It’s fast, fresh, and absolutely delicious. For anyone craving a burger experience that’s out of this world, this spot is...
