Nestled in the heart of El Mirage, Arizona, La Bamba Mexican Grill offers a culinary experience that transports you straight to the heart of Mexico with its authentic flavors and vibrant atmosphere. My recent visit to this charming restaurant was nothing short of delightful, thanks to their mouth-watering Carnitas and Asada corn street tacos, along with their homemade guacamole.
The Carnitas and Asada tacos were a feast for the senses. Each taco was generously filled with meat, more than I've encountered at other establishments, ensuring each bite was as satisfying as the last. The flavors were authentic and well-balanced, capturing the essence of traditional Mexican cuisine. The corn shells, pan-seared to perfection, added a delightful crunch and depth of flavor that elevated the overall taste experience.
The guacamole and tortilla chips, both homemade, were standout additions to the meal. The guacamole was fresh, with a rich, creamy texture that paired perfectly with the crispiness of the chips. It's clear that La Bamba takes pride in serving dishes made from scratch, a testament to their commitment to quality and authenticity.
La Bamba's ambiance is inviting and homey, filled with an eclectic mix of art that seamlessly blends religious statements, humorous taco-themed gestures, and pieces declaring, "As for me and my house, we will serve tacos." This unique decor adds a layer of warmth and personality to the dining experience, making you feel right at home.
The chef's personal approach to ensuring customer satisfaction was a highlight of our visit. Coming to our table to ensure everything met our expectations was a thoughtful touch that speaks volumes about their dedication to service excellence.
The watermelon agua fresca was the cherry on top of an already fantastic meal. Fresh, sweet, and perfectly balanced, it provided a refreshing end to our culinary journey.

Read moreYou know me I'm always down for a taco and always have a huge list of places I still haven't been, but want to. La Bamba has been on my list forever and though fairly close to me in a neighboring city I've never made my way until today. According to The Phoenix New Times it's in the top 12 best taco spots in the valley. Located in El Mirage it's in a very unassuming shopping center with a small parking area. I hate to say it but I've driven by so many times and never even noticed thats where it's at. The sign is almost unrecognizable. I had mapped the location today so I finally noticed only because I was looking for it. The inside is quite small with a few tables and bar top seating. The menu is very small and you guessed it mostly tacos. You won't find rice and beans here or even a burrito. Tuesdays they offer Birria along with their usual tacos and tonight they let us know they'd be making tostadas. Their social media lets you know specials and such of items not always on the menu. Service works different here. By that I mean besides the wall menu and word of mouth from the employees you order at the counter. No one really tells you until the guy at the counter asks you lol. They have canned sodas, water etc. tacos come four to an order. We love our tacos so we ordered pastor, asada, chicken, shrimp. The presentation was awesome and it was like a charcuterie board of my dreams with pico and cucumbers etc. hot sauce was hot for sure. The man helping us even brought us over some Mexican sushi they made to try. It was very good. I'm a shrimp taco fanatic, but honestly the pastor won today! That little bit of spicy with the fruit topping was phenomenal. Service started a bit slow as they were busy and ony two people working, but once we had our turn it was wonderful the entire rest of the visit. Evryone including other customers were so kind. We genuinely felt so welcomed and appreciated. Prices were pretty fair for how full the tacos were. They don't skimp here! Have you been? What's your...
Read moreI came across La Bamba on a local Facebook page. Tacos are definitely one of my favorite foods and knowing this place was only 6 miles from my house, I had to try it. Tomorrow is my birthday so what better way to spend your birthday Eve than with good food. Granted, I wasn't sure how good this place was, but if the reviews were accurate then I was in for a treat. Welp, 4 bamba tacos later and I can promise you this place is legit. The tacos are amazing. No joke, the best tacos I have had in years. There used to be this food truck downtown and I'd get their street tacos before my overnight shift. They didn't renew their spot so I haven't had good tacos ever since. This place (obviously much closer to my house) has definitely filled that void. Not a single bite of this taco was off. It was like your friend who happens to make bomb tacos invited you over for lunch so you just hung out and ate. It was authentic and it you could taste the passion. The final piece that truly solidifies your visit is the front house. Annie is amazing. You know the friend who makes bomb tacos? Well she's the girl who everyone just wants to be best friends with. She's smart, she's kind, she's helpful. She's accomodating, she's welcoming, she's everything you want to welcome you when you arrive somewhere. Annie made sure to treat every single client who walked in like she's known them for years. As amazing as that place is, she probably has known them for years. My first time was tonight though and she made us feel like she's known us forever. What I can guarantee is we'll be visiting this spot regularly for years to come. Thank...
