Let me describe to you the perfect day. Play Pickleball for 2 hours, find Tai He Ju and give it a try. I ordered the pork dumplings that were only $8.99. But they bring out a large bowl of egg soup for free! I enjoy the delicious flavor along with my favorite chili style sauce. After my dumplings come out the lady asks if I want another refill of egg soup! I ask is that ok? Since no one gives that much free food, and she says of course! So I agree and bite into my dumplings. A firm but gratifying texture of meat. Mind you there were other meat options but I wanted pork. And my, it was incredible, the dumplings were authentic and juicy. I would dip in chili and soy sauce. I wasn't sure if the food would fill me up, being a tall guy after exercising but I was completely satisfied after the meal. I knew right away I would have to review this place. I did a quick check into the restroom and it was very clean with a large textured bordered mirror. My total came out to around $10 rounded up, but I tipped $6. Now I gotta plan my next trip here just for...
Read moreI came to El Monte for work, so I decided to just find a random place to get lunch. At first I didn’t have a high expectation but it amazed me in some way. I’ve ordered cumin beef dumplings and the zhajiang noodles, I lived in Beijing for couple of months so I know how Chinese zhajiang noodles is different than Korean’s. I wouldn’t say it’s one of the best I’ve ever had, but is tasty, I mean is understandable since is not their specialty. But the dumplings were great, the only reason why I ordered it because it looked Argentinian empanadas, as a result, I made a right choice dumplings were super tasty. The lady told me that the dumplings were on the house because they looked “ugly”. They looked fine for me, but might as well I will just take it. Ps: I live in Koreatown and that’s some type of service that you will never get in any restaurants in Koreatown. Definitely...
Read moreWe got the steamed beef with chives dumplings, fried pork with chives dumplings, and zha jiang noodles. It came with 2 egg drop corn soup (might be a complimentary soup for each dish ordered, but we only asked for 2)! We also wanted to order the Chinese hamburger (pork), but unfortunately they were sold out already so we'll be back to try it!
The steamed and fried dumplings were both delicious!! Definitely a good place to come for dumplings! It'll take a bit for them to get you your order since they make it when you order, but it's worth it! The lady was super nice and she asked if we liked eating spicy (we said yes!). She went and gave us some spicy chili oil sauce (definitely recommend if you like spicy!)
Definitely will come...
