The WORST experience ever!! I understand the world we live in right now and also I can be a passive person but I need to write this out...Place was crowded for a small place. 2 young waiters running the place in the front and could not keep up. They seated the wrong people by not asking who was first etc. They seated us and others down at tables that were not cleaned and wiped off. After 22 minutes, I had to wave one of the guys down just to get our menus. Other customers were getting frustrated too because they would ask for water, menus, or whatever and it would take a good 10-20 minutes just to get it. I wanted to give them a chance but they just failed and failed again. We were a party of 2 and ordered an appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 drinks. It took them an hour and 14 minutes before the food came out....and the 2 entrees came out at separate times. They were the same thing!!! So frustrated! I watched other customers getting upset as well because they too were waiting for a long time. It's not a good sign when u see people that came in way after u, get their food, and are done eating while you're wondering where your food is.
I had some time to spare and was trying to be understanding but they were a compete fail!!!The food wasn't even hot. The presentation and taste was lacking!!! A sidewalk deli would've been more worthy. The service was ridiculous. Watched them tell us and other customers that they'll get something and never came back. Never refilled waters...just none...no customer service. You'd get more at a fast food drive thru.
Obviously, I'm never going back. Take this review for what it is....but I would NOT recommend to anyone, not even a stranger like u....
Read moreMy wife and I had an incredible dining experience recently at Viet Hoang in South El Monte, CA. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and seated immediately. The ambiance is cozy and feels like a traditional family restaurant.
My wife ordered the Beef Spring Rolls, and they were made to perfection—each bite was flavorful and delicious. The ingredients were fresh, with the perfect balance of lettuce, noodles, and tender beef. The peanut sauce on the side was a great complement, and they were happy to provide fish sauce upon request.
I ordered the (Bo Luc Lac) a.k.a. shake and beef, and it was absolutely mouthwatering. The garlicky rice, which reminded me of Spanish rice, paired beautifully with the well-seasoned, stir-fried cubes of steak. The dish was served with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber on the side, adding a refreshing touch. It’s truly a taste of Vietnam!
Augie, the owner, is incredibly humble and down-to-earth. You can tell he genuinely cares about his staff and the quality of the food served. He pours his heart and soul into his business, and it shows in every dish. I highly recommend stopping by Viet Hoang for a savory, mouthwatering...
Read moreGreat place to eat , and the portions are really well served. The environment is chill, and they are quick to serve you. Came here for a quick bite. I got the jasmine tea and Thai tea and ended up staying longer than I thought. I thought we could get the bigger plates and ordered a couple of items on that menu and ended up with plenty of take-home food, so that was a major plus. It's a little restaurant but with major flavor and a clean restroom, also a major plus to me. Definitely a must try for you and your family, or a date , and you can also enjoy this place solo. Most plates sit around 15, but you really get the most out of it. Fresh greens, nice teas , great flavor , plenty of food , fresh and hot plates. When I asked for extra limon , or to go boxes and a soup container, they were more than happy and quick to hand me another piece. Great place to stop...
