A total and wonderful experience. First let me say this small business is going places. Tgey are fairly new and haven't completed everything they want to as of yet so don't expect to walk into the ritz... however, some of the greatest food you will ever have is in a place most people call a dive... but don't worry,, they are going places, but even the location doesn't get all the upgrades most people want,, it doesn't matter,, you're not there for the seating... you want the food. The menu was small but growing in the near future. We had the opportunity to sit and talk to the owner. He decided to bring southern barbecue to the folks of El Paso. He admitted people will always have their own preferences when it comes to barbecue or any other food. So, at the time we had the choice of baby back ribs, smoked chicken, fish and several sides. Please excuse me if I missed anything. However, they plan to expand their menu to include a slew of additional main items to include alligator, which the owner has assured me will make any skeptic about the taste of alligator. So, we ordered the baby back ribs, baked beans, corn, and cornbread. They also have a nice selection of fresh made tea, mango juice, pineapple lemonade, sodas, and other drinks. The ribs were absolutely fantastic... the rub caramelized and ring of smoke in the meat was amazing. Now, yes I've had great ribs all over the country but these were a step above nearly everyone. The baked beans were out of this world delicious. Chunks of meat, the flavor, and the other items added in made them the best I've ever had. The corn was truly cooked well and had a great flavor. The pineapple lemonade was a fresh twist to an old favorite. All in all the food and experience were well worth the price as the serving sizes were enormous. They do not skimp on flavor or portion size. I recommend if you live in El Paso or traveling through... stop in, meet the guys, and enjoy...
Read moreWe are in town from Phoenix, AZ as part of a national parks tour (White Sands, Carlsbad, and Guadalupe Mountains) and decided to check out El Paso for 2 nights. We love BBQ so we tried King's Kitchen. Incredible! We ordered the smoked ribs, deep fried ribs, smoked chicken, parmesan garlic chicken, baked beans, and smoked mac n cheese. The owner was very personable and brought fried fish (with homemade fish sauce), corn on the cob, Spanish rice, and cabbage for us to try as well. Everything was fantastic! If we had to pick our favorite thing (which is a tough decision), it would be the smoked ribs - which are served with homemade BBQ sauce on the side because the ribs themselves are so good on their own. We really loved the corn as well which I wouldn't think to order. You can tell the owner genuinely loves his customers and values their input which is an added bonus. My 5 yr old son also loved the pineapple lemonade. Check this place out and if you have the time, dine in because the owner is fun to chat with...
Read moreI will try to find the words to express how good this is. This business is big on confidence, having standards, and showing GOAT (Greatness On Another Level) mentality. The aroma hits as soon as you enter the door as well as the friendliness. I got the king's chicken quarter combo and this is the best smoked chicken I have ever had. Great color, well-seasoned, and smell that needs to be in an air freshener. I ate it without the bbq sauce and when I went back to taste it, it exploded with smoky flavor. The corn was soaked and tasted so good, I saved the juice for later. The Cajun rice just had the perfect amount of flavor and kick. I had the strawberry lemonade and there is no reason why you shouldn't get any of the lemonades that they offer. Buy multiple cups and just store them for later. This business is veteran owned, they give back to the community by having school supplies handy, and how good they are is beyond measure. Come here and do so as...
