Ricky D's — Restaurant in El Paso

Nice large dance floor. Offer free lessons on Wednesday nights. Bartenders are friendly. Great drink specials. The lady who checks your ID at the front could make an effort to smile, say hello etc. Having a high energy happy person greeting customers can make all the difference in a business like this. The DJ plays a few good danceable songs but mostly old country that no one can dance to. We are happy we found this spot and have only been twice but look forward to returning and giving a 5 star review some day.

7/12/23 We have been back several times since this initial review and we continue to enjoy our time here. Last night, we played billiards and participated in the line dance lesson. So much fun! The music was excellent last night. Everyone there seemed super happy and friendly and the vibe was just right. Also, they have menus on the table to order from a local Mexican restaurant, the owner of which is there to take your order. We ordered the chili relleno burrito that I am now completely obsessed with. The drink special on Wednesdays is $2 well and beer all night....

I’m very impressed with how nice the bar is. The floor is kept in amazing condition, it’s rare outside DFW I go to bars where they care about it and put effort in keeping drinks off it. Great job!

Second, the staff allllll are hands down friendly and look out for your best interest. For example, tonight the managers noticed I was getting shot down dance request after request, I’m new here I get it...they went out of their way to line me up dances and I got exhausted finally! Nowhere else you find that service.

Finally, the dj plays great songs and not too much of the hip hop at one time, he spaces it out appropriately. Being I visit 30+ bars a year to dance, I know you need hip hop segments, but 15-20min every hour or two is plenty to keep people engaged, other bars in area will play 1-2hr segments and that’s enough to run off the dancers.

Great place for dancing country music. The dance floor is plenty big with room to accommodate lots of people at one time. Old style country dance floor reminiscent of the old Dallas night club. Staff is very good with 3 bars to handle your drinking needs. Drink specials throughout the night and you don't feel cheated. Now why just 4 stars? Location, location, location! It's a bit out of the way to get to, (distance from freeway and mainstay hotels) so that might be an issue for people out of town. A good mixture of older country music with the newer stuff and plenty of line dancing keeps the crowd dancing, but the sound system could be better. Overall a great place to enjoy a night of...
