RockHouse Divebar Kitchen Venue — Restaurant in El Paso

My husband and I were excited about this place. The music was great and the food was good, but the problem was with our tab and how it was handled. We ordered beer and drinks, which we knew would add up.

When we closed out tab we saw the total and thought it was a bit expensive, but since there were no list of things we ordered and just a total receipt we paid the amount plus left a 15% tip.

My husband kept track of all the things we ordered, so we did the math at home and found out that we had been charged $61 dlls for a $54 dll tab. It was just the two of us, so the tip was not included. Seven dollars might not be much, but it was the act of dishonesty that really turned us off about this place.

If you open a tab, keep track of your items and ask for a disclosure of all the items they are charging, I don't know how many people they rip off doing this. I will be more careful with this next time, as should they. It is beyond me why they would not list all the items they are charging you, it is just not good and honest practice for a business.

Service is bad. If you're going to ask a bar tender a question, they won't come up to you unless you buy a drink. At least that's what they did to me. I was standing there, waiting for one of them to come so I could ask my question at the bar table and no one would come until I waved them down. The first thing you notice when you walk into the parking lot is that it smells really bad. Almost like a sewer. Definitely does not make me want to order food or drinks there. I attended a show there, as well, and the bouncer started to harass me by telling one other man who did NOT work there to come up to my car and tell me to leave even though I told him I wanted to wait for a band to finish performing so I could get a picture with the singer. He called me a "creep" when all I was doing was listening to their music. When asked to speak to their manager, I was ignored....
