I have so many mixed feelings about this place. We came in with a deal that is announced in klaq all the time, paid $25 for a $50 voucher.
First, the place was COLD. One small heater on the back of the place. The deal includes only food, no alcoholic drinks. The waiter was attentive but it took a LONG time to place the order, he left for a few minutes. The order took 35 minutes to get our food from the moment we placed it. We understand that it takes a while for the pizzas to get ready but there was so few people. I also ordered a salad and my husband the wings.
The pizza was okay, good enough but tiny and very expensive for regular price. The salad was super expensive and very basic, $14 dlls for lettuce and fruit with feta cheese, very small. The wings were okay but I personally didn't like them, they were greasy.
I would never come back to pay regular price without the coupon. It was $80 dlls excluding the coupon, which left me with a $35 dlls bill plus to. Even with the coupon it was very expensive for the amount of food that we got, and even when the service was OK it did lack in certain things (I had to ask for a glass a water again since the waiter only brought us beers and he left us waiting a long time, also, he opened my husband's beer and left it foaming on the table when he still had half of his first beer on his glass, making a mess on our table, it was kind of funny but so wasteful, beer is expensive, dude!).
The portions were so tiny that it's been a while since I don't take home a to-go box for left over food, we finished all of the $80 dlls "worth" of food and we are...
Read moreThis is the second time we go to St. Augustine's. Both experiences were awesome. The service is very sweet and friendly, we are always greeted when we come in and thanked when we leave. A small token, but a very welcome one.
The staff is very knowledgeable about the beers they have and if they don't have what you want, they know just what to recommend that is similar. The beer selection is nice and always rotating, to help facilitate the discovery of new beers to try.
The menus are really nicely put together and have also varied from the two times we went. The menu is always evolving, which is a good sign that the customer is always kept in mind and their input is always welcome.
The pizza is very flavorful and well portioned. The crust is beautifully crunchy, and has that perfect charred taste you would expect from a brick oven pizza. The menu varies from the usual standby (pepperoni) to some pretty exotic items. And yes, they have a vegan pizza. We haven't dared to try the Chapulin pizza, yet! But we will definitely have it on our next visit! This place is worth coming back to time and time again, and we plan to do just that. Plus, BONUS!! They are open until 2am!! So you can go watch a movie, get pizza and beer and...
Read moreThis place is awesome. Simple, cozy, clean and very welcoming. Great selection of craft beer, and the food is beautifully crafted. The meat and cheese plate is beautifully served on a chopblock and is very filling. Also this place opens until 2AM almost everyday.
The pizzas are cooked to perfection in a brick oven and very satisfying. Good thing is that in St. Augustine's Pizza, unlike other brick pizza places, the pizza doesn't take long to be prepared and you literally see it coming out of the oven. Pizzas are 10" and you can also customize it to your liking.
The craft beer selection is very good. They have a beer flight sampler which is great to try all the craft beer on tap. The ambiance is very relaxed and has great chillout music.
As far as the service, it's top notch. Our waitress catered to our table in an excelent manner and was very nice and welcoming to my family and me.
This is hands down, the BEST brick oven pizza place in the El Paso area. I will...
