Disclaimer: I went to this place twice. I gotta be honest and make this clear. It was relatively late when I went. About 9:30- 10pm during the week. So basically I had one of those taco munchiez late at night and by saying taco munchies it's not the taco b*ll munchiez. I wanted something sort of like street tacos. Something good and also serves tripitas. I came across this place as a friend suggested and its close to where I am staying. It was not hard to find with the GPS. Parking was available and it was a clean parking lot. The restaurant it self was clean and decorated decently. I ordered my tacos. Tripitas and beef. It took little time than expected to get the tacos with me being the only person. Maybe 7-10 minutes. The tripitas tasted like they were rubbery and some were too hard. Quite hard to chew on. Sort of too old. I figured perhaps because of the time of the night I came. The taco bread was fried...i didn't like that because i prefer steam and not oily greasy taco. The beef was also too hard to chew on. It has some sort of flavor I didn't like. Overall I felt like I was eating too much grease and had that after eating discomfort in my stomach. The salsa bar was sort of a hassle. You get a plastic bag and the plastic cups were quite small. It was a hassle to me to collect all the salsas and veggie stuff I wanted. Would I go there again? Not really. Not even if someone offered to pay for my meal. It is not a place you'd munch for tacos and go to. Keep in mind that I've only tried the mentioned tacos and thats all. Other than that the staff were quite nice and the place was clean. Also I've chipped one of my teeth just eating the tacos when I went there the second time. So that sort of draws a picture of how greasy and hard the food was. Once again keep in mind the time I went. It could be different during the day. I am surprised the place has good reviews and its really the reason I gave this place a chance twice. However, I'd personally not go there again. I've had tacos in different cities like Midland, carlsbad, Lubbock, Dallas, and even Juarez Mexico. I surely know my tripitas and tacos. Also if you look at the pictures of the tacos reviewers post you may I see my description of greasy, dry...
Read moreJust a quick note on this Don Cuco location in Northeast El Paso. In my opinion exceptional food & service. Typically visit 2 times a year while visiting family never miss an opportunity to indulge myself in good quality food. Typically order tacos al pastor & buche... Cilantro, green salsa & lime juice, NO ONIONS! menudo ROCKS as well. Still trying to figure out how to overnight some of these terrific selections. Tried using Uber Eats from Northeast ELP to South Florida, they told me to take a hike. This even after I promised a 5 star rating to the driver. Oh well!!! Please keep my plate warm, keep up the great work!
Enjoyed my visit again on 04/08/19 never disappointed, at least not yet. As mentioned on my prior post had my usual tacos al pastor & buche with a complimentary bowl of menudo. I know what a pig! "Guilty as charged" Service was great though the line was long. Some customers I think we're shopping for groceries at the register. I thought they would never leave. Oh well something keeps bringing them back. Really enjoy this place like many other eateries in my beloved El Paso. Hope you enjoyed your stay as I...
Read moreI was in on Friday around 8pm ordered 4 tacos de pastor and 2 charro beans to go after getting my salsas and taking a seat I noticed my tacos at the window and the one guy taking orders out to customer was busy also he was asked by another customer to refill the salsa bar as it was empty. I looked to see if anyone else was working and noticed the person in charge or Manager sitting at the table on her phone ( a madre) and wondered why she wasn't helping after waiting for my order now sitting at the window for now almost 30 minutes I got up and asked the young Man to get my order which he did, thank you so by the time I got home taco/tortilla was hard and I couldn't and wasn't going to eat even if I was hungry, took my tacos back today and Gabby was so professional and polite. She repeatedly apologized but it's not her fault so great customer service Gabby thank you for being such a great helper, management needs to focus on who is running the shift and to what extent, love Don Cucos please don't give us a reason not to...
