Highly recommend to put your name on the waitlist prior to arriving!
I made the mistake of not checking before leaving the house and arrived to a TWO HOUR wait. Granted, it was Valentine’s Day which is most likely why they were packed, but still. I should have thought to check and save ourselves the hassle of having to wait in the car the entirety of that time. Also note that they don’t allow you to wait inside because there is no seating, so you have no choice but to stand outside or wait in your car.
Once we got through the long wait, everything else was pretty much smooth sailing. The girl at the host stand had a hard time finding our name at first but once she did we got our booth. Our server for the night was great! Forgot his name but he was very attentive and quick to grab whatever we needed.
My husband ordered a Dos Equis beer and I got their strawberry margarita. Very fruity and not strong at all! I will throw in that their glasses appear to be large but I noticed it’s mostly filled with ice so you’re not exactly getting as much as you think. But, it is tasty!
As for food, we ordered their rattlesnake bites in hopes that they wouldn’t come out salty like we experience at the location on Fort bliss base. Unfortunately they still tasted salty, just not as bad. It may just be the batter they use or the cheese is overly salty but I probably will stay away from the rattlesnake bites from now on. For my entree I got their pulled pork sandwich with Mac anc cheese. I’ve had the pulled pork before at their SoCal location so I knew it was good. As for the mac and cheese, I will say the cheese had a weird consistency, kind of lumpy. It also tasted a bit cold - like it had been reheated. My husband got their steak and shrimp combo. Everything tasted great! No complaints there.
Honestly I’d just come here for their fresh bread rolls. It’s the main reason I love Texas Roadhouse! They’re so warm and fresh, the cinnamon butter goes perfect with them as well.
Overall I’m giving 4 stars despite the long wait, alcohol drinks that are mostly ice, cold Mac and cheese and the salty rattlesnake bites because I really do love the bread rolls and the pulled pork sandwich is delicious! Our server was great too so that’s worth mentioning.
Next time I know to put my name on the waitlist before arriving and I know what...
Read moreFIRST TIME TO EAT AT ANY TEXAS ROADHOUSE! IT WILL BE THE LAST IF THE SERVICE AND FOOD IS ANY INDICATION AS TO HOW THIS IS THE NORM FOR THIS COMPANY! WE WERE SEATED AND SERVED SOME ROLLS BUT W/O ANY UTENSILS. THAT IN ITSELF SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WARNING SIGN AS THERE WAS NO WAY TO CUT OPEN THE ROLLS AND ADD THE SPREAD THAT CAME W/ THE ROLLS. WHEN OUR SERVER, NAOMI CAME TO INTRODUCE HERSELF, SOME 10 MINS LATER, WE ASKED FOR SOME UTENSILS AT THAT TIME AND TOLD HER WE WOULD WAIT TO ORDER OUR DRINKS WHEN OUR OTHER GUEST ARRIVED. SHE NEVER SAID A WORD OR EVEN GAVE A SMILE AS SHE WALKED AWAY. THAT WAS WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR SECOND WARNING SIGN; NO SMILE. WE SAT THERE FOR ANOTHER 5-10 MINUTES AND WE FINALLY WERE BROUGHT OUR UTENSILS AND NAPKINS, WHICH BY THAT TIME THE ROLLS WERE COLD. THIS WAS @ 17:20 AND THIS PLACE WAS ABOUT HALF FULL. WHEN OUR OTHER GUEST ARRIVED AND JOINED US, I NOTICED THAT OUR SERVER REALIZED OUR GUEST HAD SHOWN UP TO JOIN US BUT, WE WAITED ANOTHER 10 MINUTES FOR NAOMI TO COME AND ASK US ABOUT OUR DRINKS. THIS WAS FRUSTRATING BECAUSE NAOMI WAS JUST STANDING W/ OTHER SERVERS JUST TALKING WHILE WE HAD TO SIT AND WAIT UNTIL SHE WAS DONE W/ HER CONVERSATION! WHERE I WAS SEATED, I WAS ABLE TO SEE THE FRONT DESK, KITCHEN AND MOST OF THE ENTIRE SERVICE AND EATING AREA. AS A NAVY SPECIAL TEAM MEMBER WE WERE TRAINED TO BE AWARE OF EVERY LITTLE DETAIL SURRONDING US. OUR HEADS ARE ON A SWIVEL AT ALL TIMES AS WE ARE TRAINED TO NOTICE EVERYTHING. IT IS A HABIT THAT YOU CAN NEVER SHAKE! WE FINALLY WERE ABLE TO ORDER OUR TEAS AND WINE WHICH WERE SERVED IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. WE ORDERED 2 FILET MEDALLION SALADS AND A PULLED PORK SANDWICH. WHEN WE RECIEVED OUR ORDER IT WAS NOT WHAT WAS EXPECTED AT ALL! THE PORK WAS VERY DRY AND SOME OF IT WAS EVEN TOO HARD TO CHEW AND THE FRIES WERE ROOM TEMP! I ASKED FOR SOME MUSTARD, WHICH I NEVER RECIEVED AND THE TWO FILET MEDALLION SALADS WERE NOT MUCH BETTER. THE FILET MEDALLIONS WERE ROOM TEMP AS WELL, AND THE SERVICE WAS ONLY GETTING WORSE BECAUSE WE WERE NEVER ASKED ABOUT REFILLS FOR OUR TEAS! I CANNOT, IN GOOD FAITH, RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE WANTING GOOD SERVICE W/ A SMILE AND IN A TIMELY MANNER! NOR CAN I RECOMMEND THE PULLED PORK BECAUSE OF HOW DRY AND HARD IT WAS OR THE FILET MEDALLION SALADS IF YOU WANT THE MEAT TO BE KIND OF...
Read moreUPDATE SINCE LAST MONTH This place hasn’t changed. I went in around 3:49 pm and sat at the bar. I order my usual food order (12oz Ft Ribeye steak/medium, seasoned rice and steak fries). After a reasonable wait, my food comes out (minus my seasoned rice). I inquire about it and they said it should be out shortly. So I let my steak sit, as I like to enjoy my steak with my seasoned rice. After about 12 minutes, the bar server as how is everything. I said I don’t know, I don’t have my seasoned rice. He goes to check on it and comes back and says they’re out of seasoned rice. At this point I know it’s bull but I substitute it for the green beans. About 10 minutes later, the couple to my left receives some seasoned rice. Then about 7 minutes after that, the couple to my right also receives seasoned rice. I ask to speak to the manager and inform her of this B.S. She does the manager thing of trying to sound sincerely sorry ( which she’s not). They don’t offer to compensate me in any form of fashion. This place on Joe Battle has garbage service. I will travel to the other Texas Roadhouses (even though they are farther away) just for the service I deserve & pay for! I’ve read another reviewer/ commenter say that this place could learn from the one on Ft. Bliss and they are 100% correct! Folks, be warned, don’t expect quality service from this place. If you don’t believe me, just read the reviews below. I’m not making this stuff up.
It’s Saturday (11:30 am) and there is college football on but they insist on seating me away from a TV. They finally relented. I was seated in the bar area. The bartender was pretty quick to ask if we were ready to order. I order my usually 12oz Ft Worth ribeye with seasoned rice and steak fries. They were out of rice is what the bartender told me. HTF are you out of rice on a Saturday morning before the rush comes in? And why does it takes twenty minutes for my wife to get her salad (only because she had to ask for it)? These people look like they don’t wish to be here but yet expect a tip. I tip according to my service and right now, it’s not looking like they deserve one. There are only only about 20-25 customers in here. We finally got our steaks and had to send them back. Over cooked. This place needs some serious attention. Highly...
