El Paso Native. Lived in DFW for 7 years before moving back in 2022. There are multiple Summer Moon locations in the DFW metroplex. All manage to execute excellent service with 2-3X the population.
This Joe Battle location I frequent usually weekly, if not 2-3 times a week as I would in DFW and it is not in line with the standards of the other locations.
Things are remiss here at best or your management is in on willfully being derelict in meeting your own standards, at worst.
There is no confidence I will be receiving what I expect.
A Medium Mocha Moon at this location in my experience will range from tasting like straight milk, to milk and coffee grounds or just right.
HOWEVER, I sure will be made to feel like it's my fault every time! Even taking the baristas advise and asking for what I want specifically, is met with attitude because who knows why by the same person that I guess forgot to ask me to do that 2 weeks prior.
Today at 11:20 am who ever was working managed to get my order wrong, tell me I'm wrong about my own order. Gave me attitude at the prospect of having to fix her mistake and closed the door on me.
Heck yeah I drove away. Watch it in slow motion and focus on the disbelief from the service I received with a glass of water, sitting down, and meditate on how you define managing a business.
This is my wife's favorite spot from DFW, a slice of home for her in this dusty bowl when she needs that. Today was my birthday, and I rolled the dice.
I was met with the reality we do not all wake up to deliver excellence to the community to the best of our ability, nor do we coach and train our staff to be steadfast and solution oriented.
Every time we place an order they seem to never be able to hear or comprehend what is being said. I only asked to have it changed to YOUR standards which will inherently be mine as the clients less than half the time.

Read moreI have been extremely disappointed with my recent online order of Summer Moon Coffee. It was meant to be a holiday treat for myself and my family, but it has not turned out at all this way. I bought four varieties and the "Inferno" just tasted burned. I could tell right away that the coffee was not going to be good because the beans were oily. I have since tried the "Velvet Blaze" and the "Flying Cinder" and both of the seem average.
I first ordered Summer Moon five years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The coffee was rich and creamy and the smoky flavor added something special. I now have the feeling that it has grown too big and they are now mass producing the coffee and it lost what it had. I cannot afford to order it all the time as I live in Australia and the shipping would be ridiculous. Since I am back in America, I wanted to treat myself. It has turned out to be exactly the opposite.
I complained about the Inferno tasting burned and I was offered another bag (would I want another bag of burned coffee?) if I paid shipping. I felt like I should have been offered a refund instead. Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews, but this was absolutely necessary as one of their regular customers. Don’t get me wrong the coffee here is good, but they are extremely unhygienic. I come here to study often and stay at least 3-4 hours and I NEVER see workers clean tables after customers have left. This upsets me because most of the time they are not even doing anything. Today, I saw a worker for the first time since I’ve been here clean a table and the reason why they even did this was because the customer asked for it to be cleaned!!! I was also bothered by the fact that they do not wash their hands after charging someone and dealing with money, they just proceed to make your coffee. However, the worst part are the floors and restrooms! The floors and restrooms are DISGUSTING. I took these pictures 3 days ago to see if they actually cleaned them, and today I went again to study and when using the restrooms, I noticed that the stains looked exactly the SAME. Meaning that they probably don’t even clean the restrooms or if they do, they don’t do it every day which is absolutely disgusting.
