I rarely rate places I go too , but this got me really upset it’s nothing against the place it’s about the customer service.I got helped by this white girl with green hair and glasses (I didn’t see her name tag if not I would’ve wrote it down). It was my first time coming to Philz coffee a really nice place but the attitude I got from this lady was horrible , I was asking her which coffee she recommended similar to one I tend to get in other coffee shops. She will say wherever we have up there , regardless that I was asking for opinion because she’s the one that works their and she will just turn and laugh .The point is I came in with my family my husband and 2 Kids , And my son ask her with the name of the coffee she handed to this customer was , she completely ignored him. The customer looked back and told my son the name of the coffee. I won’t be going back to this place just because of the bad customer service. Employees should be more kind and humble because they were giving us nothing for free. I strongly believer that because your having a bad day your going to reflect that on your job or simply just a rude person. I think the company should take it more into consideration when hiring a person not only being a great barista but also your the face of the store so that means bringing in a good welcoming attitude to new customers and your...
Read moreSORRY STARBUCKS, BUT WE’RE OFFICIALLY BREAKING UP!! I happened to be staying in Manhattan Beach and I stumbled upon this gem of a coffee shop. At first, I was a bit confused about why I was waiting so long for a coffee, since I’m so accustomed to being herded in and out of my usual coffee shop as I rush to the next checklist item on my agenda for the day. But my experience at Philz Coffee reminded me that the best things in life truly are worth waiting for. I’ve never had a coffee that makes me think of a past vacation that I’ve had, but the coffee named “Dancing Water” with a hint of steamed Oat Milk was so smooth and mellow that it reminded me more of a, “Staying at a luxury resort on a calm tropical beach” coffee than a, “Driving into crazy LA morning rush hour traffic so I better get amped up” coffee.
Lake was the name of my server and she was very kind. I loved the fact that she actually came around the counter to hand me my coffee and she asked me to taste it and let her know if it was to my liking. If not, she would be happy to remake it. Now THAT is what you call true craftsmanship and service. Thank you Philz Coffee. You guys really changed my morning and enhanced my view of what a great business that really cares about their customers really looks like. I will definitely be recommending you to all of my friends who visit...
Read moreI came to Philz Coffee for the first time today. I’ve been meaning to try it and was in the area so I stopped by. Sadly, they don’t have any Matcha 😭. I’m not a huge coffee person but I got the Gingersnap iced coffee with almond milk and medium sweet. I appreciated the time the employee took to explain to me how things work there and how they prepare their drinks. He gave me two suggestions but I went with the gingersnap. The barista was also very nice when he called my name he asked me to taste it to make sure it was up to my standard which I was surprised at. That’s a very nice touch to the experience. Since I had nothing to compare it to I said it was fine and was on my way.
There’s a nice seating area outside and some nice artwork inside. After drinking the drink more, I appreciated the tastes of blended spices, the caffeine in it is STRONG though and personally if I ordered it again I’d ask them to mix in a higher volume of almond milk to balance it out. They had another drink with caramel and oat milk. I probably would’ve liked that one better and will be back to give it a try. Stay tuned I’ll be sure to update my review once I’ve gone back.
Love the mission and story behind Philz and for that alone I’d...
