Had lunch there today, and it was meh, at best.....had higher reviews than a neighboring seafood restaurant, but should have known when the competing restaurant had the full parking lot.
Don't mean to sound petty, but this is a tiny place and we had a friendly but SUPER LOUD waitress and when she greeted other customers or spoke on general ? We had to stop talking, I can't believe trained management hasn't noticed from an atmosphere aspect.
Moving on, we ordered the shrimp crab bisque that the waitress emphatically was pushing, and it was creamy, but we found one half of one shrimp and possibly remnants of a 2nd one , and crab bits were indeed found only at the bottom. Pretty disappointing for $8/$9 especially with no shrimp which aren't that expensive even frozen.
We had grouper and royal reds, and along with the bisque ? Weren't sure these were made to order it all came out so very quickly. Grouper was a little rubbery and overcooked, royal reds were rubbery due to being steamed earlier we think. Not 100% certain this is the case, but we wonder. At any rate, maybe this is more of a drinking place ? Or we went on an "off" day but won't go back...
Read moreVery kind and fast working wait staff! Had lunch with my father. We ordered the fried okra appetizer. Was piping hot and fried to perfection. The amount was a bit small for the price. However, inflation has been high in our area. Don't get me started on insurance premiums and property taxes. 🙄
My Dad had the smash burger with sweet potato fries while I ate the shrimp po'boy. The food portions are huge, and I honestly think we got a good amount for the price.
The only thing my Father did not like was the taste of fish in his burger meat. Which makes sense if they're grilling the beef and seafood on the same surface.
As for my meal, it was 2 meals in one. The po'boy bread doesn't fall apart easily, is toasted on the inside and stuffed full of shrimp (A few fell out while I was trying to eat this thing!) The lettuce, tomato and onions are all fresh. And the French fries are plentiful. They're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Some of the shapes reminded me of oysters.
I'd recommend giving this place a shot. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a wonderful bar.
Definitely will make another visit to try their...
Read moreWe were given a recommendation to go here by locals for amazingly fresh seafood and oysters. My goodness are we so glad that we went! We were not very hungry but we plowed through boom boom shrimp, Sampler Oyster platter- charbroiled, Blackened jumbo shrimp, Fried Grouper bites, (the French fries are delicious BTW), and my husband had a chicken sandwich. I have to tell you. 3 out of the 4 of us absolutely love seafood, (my husband likes it but he's a chicken/burger guy), and we have had plenty of seafood in many coastal areas in many places all over the world... we absolutely thought this was one of our favorites. Our server Greg was so wonderful. He explained how everything was caught, made, and where it came from. Everything was so fresh, so flavorful, and just made to perfection. We would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area and we will definitely be back, most likely before we our vacation ends. Every other employee that we spoke with was so friendly and kind as well. We just had a great time. Thank you for the amazing food and...
