I am so disappointed! I ordered online, which I like because I am a 'cilantro tastes like soap' girlie, and the online platform has you select your toppings from the available options..... I ordered 2 chicken and 4 pork tacos.... for those, the options are onion, cilantro, and lettuce (yes, that's it). I checked onion and lettuce and specifically did NOT check cilantro. I got a TON of cilantro anyway. Annoying. The chicken and pork were both so dry I had to raid my fridge for something to make it edible (lucky I had sour cream). The tacos come with a container of a red sauce but it is very hot and really not suitable for cutting the dryness of the meat. Additionally, there is zero flavor to anything except the odd sauce that just tastes like HOT. The meat tastes like it was boiled in unseasoned water and then dried in the sun. Dry and tasteless.
The tacos are also outrageously small..... I mean like appetizer size. At $5 a piece, these just are not it. I spent $30 for six tacos, and they fit in one take out box with plenty of room to spare. I could hold THREE tacos in one hand with ease. So. Dang. Small. I do not care about the size necessarily, but there is about a tablespoon of meat in each taco. $5 for a tablespoon of meat is outrageous. Anyone who is actually hungry better stop somewhere for a snack before ordering here or they will either leave still hungry or broke.
I also ordered a drink..... $7. Nothing fancy, just a plain uncarbonated drink/juice. When I picked up my order, the lady did not give me a drink and when I aked for it, she just told me she was out. I just stood there trying to figure out if she was going to refund me or offer an alternative, and she did neither. Eventually, I asked for a replacement drink and she begrudgingly gave me a different drink (which was pretty good, but it should be for $7!!!) I asked for 'no ice'..... spoiler, it had ice in it. The drink was not cold when poured, so when they added it to the ice, all the ice quickly melted and watered it down considerably. 🥺
It's been 15 minutes and I am both still hungry and nauseous.
I am so bummed because this place has all the makings of an amazing Mexican choice in NPR..... actual Hispanic women cooking, food truck in what appears to be in a regular spot, and online ordering. But alas, the search for a good Taqueria near NPR continues.
This one is...
Read moreI absolutely love this business ❤️ the owners of the convenience store added a Mexican taco place and I can confidently say that if I could give both the store and the restaurant 10 stars on Google, I would. The tortillas are handmade, first time I have ever tried one and I was not disappointed. They were the perfect mixture of crunch and softness, and the meats ( both pork and chicken tacos) had a tasty smoked/grilled flavor to them. The presentation as well is by far phenomenal. My husband is a chef, and this is exactly how he expects food to be plated and served to customers. Amazing experience, talented cooks and their truck also has the neatest decals. Odd thing to add, I know, but standing close to it you can get lost in all the imagery in black and...
Read moreWe were expecting some decent, quick food, instead we waited over 20 minutes for flavorless slop. The quesadilla was terrible alone, but they coupled it with bland overcooked rice and what was supposed to be refried beans (but as you see in the video, it was liquid!!!!)
The fries we ordered were clearly dropped before the oil was hot… they are greasy, soggy, and undercooked just like the quesadilla. I can’t believe they actually served this...
