Slowest drive-thru Sonic in Texas, period. Multiple visits with poor food quality to waiting more than 15 minutes to start an order, last visit we waited at the drive-thru speaker for 10 minutes without an answer, then was told will be with you shortly, waited another 8 minutes, then was told it'll be a few more minutes so we waited, at this time, the two cars in front of us were already served, we watched a car that followed us in that pulled into a stall and was already being served before we placed an order. Why even have a drive-thru option if the stalls are priority over drive-thru, it just doesn't make any sense. Also our order was very simple too; just 2 foot long coneys with 2 tater tots, and two drinks, so no excuses, in my younger years I've worked at many fast food places, drive-thru included, so I know that this is just a poorly managed location. We gave up on going to this sonic from now on, there is just too many problems, also when we did get our order, the chili was room temp, the two dogs looked like they were microwaved, we travel a lot and stop at many sonic's throughout Texas so we definitely know the difference in...
Read moreThis location is pretty hit or miss and I’ve been coming to this one for about 9-10 years so I’ve seen the changes that have gone down. Aside from that, most of the time they are slow but I have personally never had any issues with my order being correct. The reason for the four stars is mostly for Maria! The past couple of times I’ve been there, Maria has been the ONLY seemingly carhop and the only one bringing out food/drinks. She hustles, is extremely kind and apologetic for wait times and genuinely seems to be a hard worker who cares about her job and performance. Sonic workers do not make much but Maria deserves a raise. I know things are crazy but seeing her hustle and be kind in the craziness of it all is honestly refreshing. I find it gross that sonic is allowing this to happen (there should never only be one carhop, imo). I hope Maria gets the recognition she deserves because she is a rockstar from what I can tell. Read moreTori made this my favorite sonic. I'll drive the extra 3 miles out of my way to go to Elgin instead of Taylor. They were short handed and running just a bit behind, she made her way around apologizing to everyone and ensuring customers that their orders would be out soon. I understand the struggle and told her no worries. After we received our order she came out and thanked me for my patience and offered free drinks if we were to come back. That level of customer service is hard to find and because of her I will be back. In fact we went back today and got 3 shark week slushes!
Edit 9/22 There is no way you can tell me that a customer waiting 20 minutes and never getting their order taken is somehow the outcome of being short staffed when a staff member is standing behind the building talking on their phone while customers are being neglected.
