Horrible service, horrible location, and low quantity of food. For starters, there is no room to park anywhere so you have to park a block away and risk getting towed. If you are lucky enough to find parking on location you risk getting boxed in and having to ask random people that are dining there to move out of your way so you can leave. Secondly, be prepared to repeat yourself because the staff is sloppy. My boyfriend speaks fluent Spanish (from Mexico) and even he had to repeat himself multiple times to different members of staff when we were trying to order. Lastly, when the food arrived they gave us barley any meat on our tacos as well as low quantity’s of meat on other common Mexican Dishes. It really sucks when you pay $50 for dinner and you leave still hungry. My boyfriend’s mother ordered takeout (for some reason) and I attached a photo showing a very thin layer of meat and greens on the extra stuff we took home. Overall we ended up basically getting scammed out of $50 for plain bread. Please save your time, gas, and money by avoiding this place at all costs. If you drive in any direction a little further down the road you can eat a lot better and cheaper.

Finally, after searching for years... I have found THE taco spot in Elgin! Yes, the prices listed are incorrect, printing is expensive and online sources lie; as of 8/2025, they're $3.75/taco. Still about $1/taco cheaper than some places, AND they're better than average, AND they're bigger than average (twice the size of a couple well known places down the street - I'm looking at yall southeast on villa)! Steak, al pastor, barbacoa, Chile relleno - all on point. Opened late for me as well, good help is hard to find. Not open at 10 but came back a little before 11 and she apologized for the late start. As far as the reviews claiming rude, or racist to non-hispanics, I didn't experience this. I'm sure she deals with all sorts of weird, rude and entitled folks on a daily basis. I tried as much Spanish as I could (meats and numbers) and I think she had a chuckle. I'm comfortable enough I don't mind laughing at myself. And she CAN speak English too! As far as I'm concerned, this place is a gem and I will be back almost every time I'm working in Elgin.

So we were charged $46+ They overcharged us by $12 then wouldn't make our food for the price listed on their video menu. Cause we were white. The rudest place I have ever been. As we were asking why the charge was different, they handed us back $42 cash. Said the Jamaica was 3.99+tx and this was the difference. And we didn't even ask for a refund, we asked why we were charged extra. The lady was rude to us from the second we walked in the door. If they don't acknowledge you, or pour your only drink wrong, they tried to give us horchata, when we very clearly ordered Jamaica. Do Not Eat Here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrived there slipping as there was no wet floor sign or anything indicating that the front entrance metal step from icing today. Lady took her time to get everything else she was doing done before even greeting and then going back to her things. First and foremost wanted to ask about parking. Sat down with the wife and wait 8 more minutes before we’re both greeted and handed one menu instead of the both of us. Fresh tortilla chips were given and good salsa as well, abit creamy yet still retained its Spicy flavors Drinks came another ten minutes and mother five to take the order I was reasonable to think okay one lady is bagging, ringing up customers and taking orders at tables. Also seemed as if only one cook was there. People trickled into this tiny joint so slowly there’s no reason we should have waited 30-35 minutes for one Burrito suizo and one sad Chicken Quesadilla. It seemed the cook was more interested in picking the playlist. Of music blaring from the kitchen than making the food and orders stacking up. Two carry outs waited and the couple that had been there before us for god knows how long had barely gotten their food 20 minutes into us waiting. Turns out the lady mentioned to another coworker who waltz in when I was paying that there were Two cooks in the back. Seriously ? As I’m paying she gives me the merchant copy tells me it’s mine/ tells me to sign it/ has my copy in the other hand, I sign hers because I know which is which and holds onto mine while going back into the kitchen to talk with the cook Let me get back to the food The steak burrito had everything it was a great size of food but alas still disappointed in texture and flavor overall. The rice was mushy, and the steak either overseasoned or just sitting in salty juice not even their salsa could fix the sad burrito. The wife’s sad quesadilla barely had any meat in it. It seems no one that isn’t in the kitchen knows what goes into the food as we asked her”is there any onion in that item” confidently she said no there is not. The wife is picky but if it had been anyone who might’ve been deadly allergic to onions I hope to god this lady does her job better for someone else. The only positive thing of the quesadilla might’ve been the dough seemed freshly made or cooked. I had planned on taking some of it home yet she only bothered to bring us on dusty styrofoam container for only her meal. I had high hopes for what people raved about this place and the fact it has such a high reviews, it’s a small grease trap. Call your food in the service was terrible. Don’t come asking how everything is thinking thats the only part of your job. I will not be coming back or...

So I've been going here since I moved to Elgin 2020. The food is great. The prices are contantly changing and increasing and they dont show the actual prices of the indivisual food items, sometimes getting a taco dinner and drink is 15 and recently its been 20 plus dollars. They will tell you how much your order is but when u get the recipes its got like 2 to 3 extra dollars added to it. A particular female server there I tipped her lots of money personally because she always looked so tired and she worked hard. They have inside seating and a small outside seating. Regardless of which server I've been served inside and outside with and without friends. Tell me why today I asked if my friend and i could be served outside and she said idk and I repeated the question again and she said idk but gave me the menus to look at. I took them and we knew what we wanted but she never came out. We waited for like 20 mins thinking they must be busy, till I realized she wasn't going to come out. I went in and ordered and said it's for here and outside she had a bad additude, so I didn't tip. We waited for another 20 minutes for our food only for her to stand in the window and rudely jerk her finger at me to come in. I went in and she said you can take your dishes outside and stood there staring. My friend and I had to tote our food outside back and forth while she stood there glaring at me for which I have no idea why. When we had our last dish her daughter who sits up in the front and usually ignores me like she cant speak english when i always try to order from her spoke English for her mother and said that they don't serve outside. She is the same server I personally tipped alot of money many times in the passed. I feel highly disrespected and degraded. I'm not sure I will go there again. If your not mexican I don't recommend it. I do think...
