I recently visited Kaza Restaurant , and unfortunately, it was a deeply frustrating experience. We were seated at 6:28 PM, and from there, things went downhill. Despite not being particularly busy, we waited a full 20 minutes just for someone to bring us the bread. After that, it took another 5-10 minutes before we got any water. What made this even worse was that throughout our time there, the servers passed by us 5 to 6 times, clearly seeing we were waiting, yet none of them made the effort to ask if we were ready to order or needed anything. The whole experience felt uncomfortable from the start, and there was a distinct sense that we were being ignored on purpose. It was hard not to feel like our sexuality had something to do with it. We were treated with a lack of respect and warmth that was hard to overlook, and it made what should have been a simple meal feel more like an ordeal.I’m deeply disappointed by how we were treated. No one should feel uncomfortable or unwelcome simply because of who they are. The slow service, the lack of attention, and the subtle sense of discrimination made this one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I won't be returning and would advise others to think twice before visiting an establishment that left us feeling so alienated.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. However, I believe there may be a misunderstanding regarding the experience I had at your restaurant, and I would like to clarify a few points. As I mentioned in my initial review, after being seated, we waited for an extended period of time without any acknowledgment from a server. There was no greeting or offer of water or drinks. If you refer to the video footage, you’ll notice that after approximately 10 minutes of us being seated, two other guests were seated at nearby tables, and within moments, a server was at their table offering them water and taking their orders. This stark contrast in service made it feel as though we were being ignored. After waiting for about 20 minutes, a server finally came to our table, but only to drop off bread without offering us water or inquiring if we needed anything else. We continued to wait for another 5-10 minutes before receiving further attention.Given the circumstances, I hope you can now better understand why I felt the way I did, and why this experience seemed like a case of being ignored, or even discriminated against. It was not simply a matter of slow service, but rather the lack of initial acknowledgment, especially when comparing our treatment to others seated after us.Thank you again for your attention to this matter. I trust you’ll take my feedback into...
Read moreI came to Kaza for my birthday. I had the worse experience here ever, they basically ruined my birthday. My baker dropped off my cake to Valentina (who works in the front greeting people) My baker texted me prior back, she told her to leave it out room temp. When I got there with my boyfriend Valentina looked miserable maybe because she was tired? Didn’t feel welcomed at all. She didn’t greet us properly and I told her my reservation and asked her about the cake. She was barely responding back to me which was weird. I asked her twice if she could please bring my cake out so I could see it and take pictures of it. After 15 minutes of not bringing it out, I just left it alone and then I asked her if she could make sure that the cake is not refrigerated. The cake always needs a little over an hour to thaw. After being seated, we met a waitress named Jessica. From the moment we got there, She just kept standing by the table, Hovering staring at us. I told her I was waiting for two extra guests who ended up arriving soon. Before this as I was taking pictures she seemed aggravated. I also mentioned twice to Jessica if they could make sure my cake is not refrigerated. Why keep telling me yes if you’re not going to even do it? When bringing it out it was solid/frozen and not thawed so we couldn’t even enjoy or cut my cake. My friend’s appetizer also came after her food. All of our plates food was very mid and not seasoned. I don’t think the entrees were worth the price. Jessica was really rude and was snarky twice while serving. She even rolled her eyes 1 time. I kept my composure only because it was my birthday and I wasn’t trying to make my experience worse than what it already was. It’s ok to accept you’re wrong. You can’t get mad at guests if they’re upset with your lack of service and unecessary/unprovoked rudeness. If you don’t like your job why work there? Especially because I’m the nicest when it comes to waitresses. Maybe I just went a wrong day or got bad luck here. I would not ever come back here for my birthday. However, I can say me and my friends liked the appetizers and I liked the drinks. I feel the restaurant was overhyped. I would recommended this place for drinks and appetizers only. I never had a restaurant experience like this ever especially the way our waitress was. They weren’t welcoming at all and ruined my cake experience. The least they could have done after that is not been so rude during serving and...
Read moreI would rate my experience at Kaza Restaurant Urban Dining a solid 4.8/5
Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 4.5
We started with the fried calamari and tequeños as appetizers. While the tequeños were good, they weren't warm enough, if they were hotter there would have been a nice cheese pull would have made them perfect. They reminded me of mozzarella sticks but with a sweeter coating. The fried calamari was perfect, and the house aioli that they were served with was delicious.
For entrees, I had the Risotto 4 Cheese with Churrasco, and my fiancé had the half roasted chicken with cassava truffle Parmesan fries. The cassava truffle Parmesan fries were interesting, I've never had anything like them, and it pleasantly surprised me. It was really good! The entrees are truly where this restaurant shines.
The entree menu is not extensive, but they definitely have perfected what customers have to choose from, because what l've tried is absolutely DELICIOUS.
For drinks, I ordered the Golden Boy cocktail, which is reminiscent of a margarita. While the presentation was stunning, and the drink tasted good, it was not anything special. I think that there is room for improvement in terms of flavor complexity and uniqueness in the drinks. Also, I only ordered this one drink, so this review does not represent the whole drink menu, I will definitely be back to try more and I will update my ratings and review!
The restaurant's atmosphere is beautiful. The dim lighting and modern and antique decor create a cozy yet upscale vibe. The service was fantastic! Our waitress, Amber, was attentive and proactive. For example, when I struggled to cut my steak, she immediately brought me a steak knife without needing to be asked. And the other waitresses on shift were also very helpful too, clearing plates promptly and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Service is great, the waitstaff is very attentive. My fiancé actually forgot his card and the restaurant called us to notify us within 10 minutes of us leaving, thankfully I booked the reservation online where they had my number to call us! Overall, Kaza serves delicious food, has great service, and is a beautiful dining...
