I am a hamburger specialist. I could eat them every single day and well most of the time I do. Everywhere I travel, I always have to check out any cheeseburger place. I am from the Tri-Cities and was recently there on vacation and was craving a burger. My niece suggested Pals but I'd been there before and really wanted something new. A couple of days before I had been driving around Elizabethton looking at old stomping grounds and ran across J'd Corner. I thought to myself I need to try that before I leave. I didn't eat then as I'd already eaten. So on our way to Pal's, I remembered this place so my sister and I went there instead. Boy am I glad I did. The cheeseburger and big crinkle fries were so good that I couldn't wait to go back. The bun was grilled and warm, the burger was fresh and patted out to order and even though cooked on a grill, it was AWESOME! I went there on a Thursday and was going to Knoxville the next day and was going to go back to J's Corner on Saturday after I returned. I couldn't wait; this place was on my mind all night long Thursday. So instead of heading out to I-81 to go to Knoxville, I went back to J's on my way out and caught Hwy 26 that connects to I-81. It so hit the spot. Other than a place I go to here in Washington State where I live near Seattle, J's Corner is the 2nd best burger I've had and believe me, I've had A LOT even up in Calgary, Canada. So if you're in the mood for an awesome burger, and apparently they have awesome bbq (better than Ridgewood if you know that place), do yourself a favor and check it out. They were also just so nice and the guy that helped me called me Sweetheart and said Yes Mam and that just put a smile on my face. Here in Washington you just don't get that kind of treatment...

After a long, busy day at work, I stopped by J’s Corner—and let me tell you, it felt less like walking into a restaurant and more like visiting old friends who always make you feel at home. From the warm smiles of the staff to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that wraps you in comfort the moment you walk through the door.
For dinner, I went with a classic: the cheeseburger and onion rings, paired with a glass of Memaw’s Tea. Let me just say this—I’ve had cheeseburgers near and far, from backyard cookouts to diners claiming to be the “best in town.” But this burger? It was something special. The flavors were so rich and perfectly balanced, it’s the kind of meal you write home to Momma about.
And the tea? Oh, the tea. With just one sip, I was transported back to my childhood—6 years old, sitting on Nana’s porch with my dog Tiger by my side, savoring a glass of sweet tea so good it could make a bad day disappear. That’s what Memaw’s Tea does—it’s pure nostalgia in a glass.
If you haven’t been to J’s Corner yet, do yourself a favor and go. Trust me, you’ll walk out feeling like every decision you make from that moment forward will be the right one. Because, let’s face it, stopping by J’s Corner is already one of the best decisions you could make when it comes to food.
It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience you...
Read moreWe haven’t ate at J’s Corner’s in awhile, so we decided to give it a try this evening. We both got cheeseburgers and fries. The fries were way too salty. Tasted like some sort of seasoned salt was used on them. They are also short crinkle cut fries, nothing really special about them. The only good thing I can say about them, they were hot. The cheeseburgers are not made with fresh ground beef, but are frozen patties. The onion and tomato were fresh. The burgers are small and gave me heartburn. The place was very busy with call in orders, so I must have ordered the wrong items there. Also while I was waiting for my food, the cashier and a gentleman customer at the counter, in very loud voices recounted all the births they had watched including a bloody C-Section birth. The cashier also told how her mother made her watch a DVD birth of her brother so she wouldn’t get pregnant, which to this day she has no children. Shrew laud I am thinking this is not the place to discuss all that, while people are trying to order food. I doubt I will ever...
