Cavern Club @J.R. Neighbors — Restaurant in Elizabethtown

We've been wanting to breeze through here for a while, so when we got our chance we were a bit apprehensive that it would just be another regular kentucky bar. It was not. This place was fantastic! The atmosphere, lighting, noise level was all tailored to a calm, fancy evening out. I've spent some time in the swankier parts of Chicago and they really really did a good job of replicating that environment.

Great conversation and attention from the bar tenders even on a busy Friday night. The drink menu was incredible and a little complex but the bar manager was super informative and helpful. It really came off as a well curated "speakeasy experience" rather than just another watering hole.

I DEFINATELY didn't dress up as much as I should have (dirty work jeans and a sleeveless black t-shirt), but nobody cared, and it was such a fun experience that I will probably dress up a bit next time just to try and match the vibe. Went here last year and had great drinks and fun. My Fiancée went last Saturday with her Sister and Mother for a little bachelorette celebration. She said one of the female bartenders looked at her sister and then whispered something to the male bartender and he said he wouldn't serve them. They asked why and he said "I don't have to tell you" Her mother was confused and went back in and wanted to know why. Was it because he was worried about their ages? He responded "No if I wanted to know how old you were I'd ID you." Very strange interaction with no explanation.

I left a star because I genuinely had a good time there when I went. I do feel somewhat bad posting this, but it didn't, and still doesn't sit well with me. I'm not sure if it was a case of mistaken identity? They had never been before so I'm not sure. If they had interacted more they would have found out her Sister was designated driver. If they had looked at their ID's they would have seen they're from out of state.

Very laid back atmosphere, dark jazzy feel. A quite atmosphere that is perfect for date night, or even a quite, relaxing girls night out. They offer a large selection of alcoholic beverages including beers and delicious specialty drinks such as the Lady Pomeroy? or something of that nature which I ordered. It was severed with a flaming pineapple that was delicious. Private booths with curtain enclosure are available and at the time of my visit were $50.00. Outdoor seating with couch and table seating is also available that are heated for cold nights. Outdoor seats were more vocal and social. Great times were had in both ares.
