J.R. Neighbors is a welcomed addition to our downtown area. It's so new that I chose to overlook the minor shortcomings in my rating. The space is a collection of very well designed areas and the building itself not only blends into the historic areas but actually enhances the city circle. I look forward to visiting when the additional areas are opened, especially the upstairs bar. The place was buzzing with people on a busy Friday night but the well staffed operation functioned like a well organized restaurant. The wait time was minimal, about 30 minutes top. Our server, Cassie was cheerful and attentive. We started with two signature cocktails, Carrie's Ire proved flat and the smokey Old Fashioned had no hint of smoke. They were $8 each, which is reasonable even though they were less than inspired. I really wasn't hungry so I ordered the single smash burger with Mac and cheese, because I ALWAYS try Mac and cheese wherever I go. The burger was okay but the pasta was almost mushy. The cheese sauce was rich and tasty. I look forward to trying their bison burger and the elk burger next time. My dinner companion has dietary issues and was happy to have a gluten free bun for his veggie burger. The bun was very good but the patty was a bit tough. He loved the sweet potato fries and the dipping sauce is superb. The total bill was just under $50. I think the place will find it's niche in downtown and do well. I really hope so because Despite the few shortcomings, I enjoyed this upscale burger bar. Also Kudos to the clever choice of names! J. R. Neighbors' legend lives on in the inspired...

Was in ETown thought we’d try JR Neighborhood for a burger. Great selection of beers and bourbon. Beer was good and great price for $4. Service was really good. It wasn’t busy when we were there. Friday around 2. We ordered the Lamb and the Elk burgers. Lamb was over cooked and had too much goat cheese that Over powered the burger. It was also under seasoned and was really dry bc it was well done. The Elk burger was also over cooked, should have been medium and was dry bc it was overcooked. The grilled onions were not great. They slid off the burger onto the plate and the arugula was also everywhere. I had to reconstruct it all. Should have sent them both back but didn’t want the hassle. So not a good experience with the burgers. The fries and tater tots were good. Being pretty critical here I know. But if you’re going to advertise that you have great and different burgers, you need to deliver. Wanted a good experience with something different and We were disappointed to say the least. I would come back and give it another try, but would probably have something else. So there’s that. Wife got a house wine and must say it was a skimpy pour for 10 bucks. I get that this post make me sound like I'm being a Karen, but when you spend $70-$80 bucks you’d like to think at least one of the burgers would be a good bite and you didn’t feel like you were getting what you paid for. Come on JR Neighborhood we want the same experience some of your other...

If you're a burger enthusiast like me, J.R. Neighbors is a must-visit spot that will undoubtedly leave you craving more. This hidden gem stands out not only for its cozy ambiance but also for its impressive variety of burgers.

What sets J.R. Neighbors apart is their commitment to offering more than just the usual beef patty. The menu boasts an eclectic selection of burgers, including elk, bison, lamb, and the classic beef option. It's a carnivore's dream come true, with each burger crafted to perfection.

The Elk Burger, a personal favorite, is a lean and flavorful alternative to traditional beef. The Bison Burger offers a robust taste that's both juicy and satisfying, while the Lamb Burger brings a unique, savory twist that is simply mouthwatering. Of course, for those who prefer the classics, the regular beef burgers are also top-notch. We liked the devile eggs and hash browns as well.

J.R. Neighbors has successfully elevated the burger game by offering a range of choices that go beyond the ordinary. If you're looking for a place that celebrates the art of burger-making with creativity and quality, J.R. Neighbors is the place to be. I'll definitely be returning to savor more of their delectable...
