We arrived between 12:30 and 1 pm on Saturday, July 15th!!! People were going & coming all over Elizabethtown, NC, especially through both doors at Melvin's. The line of people waiting extended from the back door to the food pick up, but, moved very quickly as I watched the amazingly fast assembly line taking your order, receiving your money (great prices $3.79 for cheese burger all the way) making, cooking, creating your order, wrapping, bagging, & handing you the deliciousness, steaming hot in a paper bag!!! My husband's first time there, and he loved his cheeseburger... so did I and so did our fuzzy children!!! Would love to return there soon!!! And I want to go shopping in Elizabethtown ... What a great job they have done revitalizing their town...it seems to be thriving!!! Support your local businesses...don't make them hurt & China rich in...
Read moreI honestly do not see what the big hype is about here. This is our third time in the area and decided to try this place since it seems to be a big hit. Maybe I had high expectations but I wasn't impressed. The hotdog was luke warm at best and tasted boiled. Prices are very fair though so that's a plus. Also it was extremely fast service, too fast in fact. The lady missed items I asked for (which isn't much since the menu is small) and as I'm paying taking another order while the person behind you is hovering over. The lady (smaller girl with blonde hair) is extremely rude. We were not pleased with her pushy attitude and smart answers to a few...

During busy hours there may be a line, but it moves fairly quickly. Everything is made as you order it, so you don't get old meat or buns. The staff is VERY friendly as well. Good people, good food!
Update 2022-03-17: Still a great place to eat, but the taste has changed a bit. The town closed the Red & White where they bought meat and bread, and they now source their supplies elsewhere. The prices have increased too. No more 85c burgers. Now it's around $2.85, but a chunk of that can be blamed...
