I am really surprised by all the poor reviews. Here are a few tips:
Mid-range buffet restaurants are not Le France. The staff is there to work hard, not bow, scrape, and otherwise stroke your ego.
Families frequent places like this. That means kids, which means some loud chatter.
Spicy Indian food is... drumroll, please... spicy. So, if that's not to your taste, you should look at the food and avoid the dishes OBVIOUSLY full of hot peppers, and also the bright red sauce labeled "very spicy." You're welcome.
All buffet food deteriorates in quality as time passes. If you show up at 8:45 PM, you probably won't enjoy a first-rate experience anywhere, including CoI (sorry, guys).
So, full disclosure: I sat down about twenty minutes after the dinner buffet had been set out, and I was really very hungry, a condition which enhances any repast. Having said that: this was the best meal I have had in months. I love spicy food. There was only one dish quite hot as presented, a delicious fried fish and habanero pepper arrangement. But the Indian chili sauce available to warm up anything else was great. There was a goat curry, clearly the real thing (why do Americans prize venison, but dismiss goat and mutton as too gamey?) The Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Curry were also fantastic, as was the lentil stew. The rice was light, fluffy, perfect, and the samosa was great, and NOT too hot by anybody's standards. There were several other vegetarian dishes I didn't sample, but if that's your thing, you'll have plenty to choose from. I don't have much of a sweet tooth either, but the desert table had five dishes, including a somewhat tempting mango-almond ice cream (I opted for one last portion of goat curry instead).
Downsides: none to speak of. My interactions with the staff were limited to them telling me I could sit anywhere at the start, and then taking my money and making change at the end. I'm sure they noticed my exquisite taste and good looks, but they kept it to themselves, opting instead to work hard servicing their customers. Also, isn't there usually a flat bread for scooping up the last luscious bit of perfect rice-and-whatever? None in evidence, but maybe I missed it.
On second thought, maybe there is a downside: Cuisine of India is only five minutes from where I work. I stumbled upon it because it was the only restaurant around open Christmas Day, but I'll DEFINITELY be back regularly. My wallet and my waistline might take a...
Read moreI am again reducing the rating to 1 star as I found meat and piece of bone in my food. I am vegetarian and I got sick for few days vomiting and weakness and restaurant did not do anything about it. I called the owner and he never picked up the call to address the health concerns and foods contamination issue.
I am reducing the rating from my previous post for poor food quality and taste. Now this restaurant uses same gravy for matter paneer, malai kofta, navratan kurma, paneer tikka, pretty much all the dish taste same. No difference when they are not the same thing and base of the gravy is very different from each other. I have going to this restaurant for 15 years and it’s disappointing how they changed the ingredients, everything on menu taste same and not tasty at all.
I highly recommend restaurants management to look into big contamination issues, health safety, food quality, taste, cooking, and right...
Read moreHave you tasted Karhi with Pakora (It has traditional taste) I love it. It is very healthy also it has a Punjabi taste.
I generally take Karahi Paneer , Tell them not to put red chilly. Green chilly is good. Don't put too much cream. It is awsome.
Dal Makhani (with no cream) tastes delicious. That is the home taste.
I also tasted "Paneer Bhurji" (Dry one, Punjabi style). It is awsome. I don't like the Paneer Bhurji with lot of liquid water + masala. Ask them that it should be dry. You will love it.
Samosas are awsome and much better than the Pujab Sweets in Devon which is very famous.
The food is clean and tasty. I am a Punjabi hguy. So I know the Punjabi Tastes.
Recently there are lot of customers and during lunch and dinner it attracts lot of customers.
Indian Manager on the counter needs to show more courtesy to customers and have a charming personality. Same behavior with...
