Should have just stayed home. I went there with my husband and two kids on a Saturday night as a way of doing something fun as a family. This restaurant was overall very well rated and recommended. We arrived at 7:30pm and were promptly seated by a friendly member of the staff. The interior decor was simple and not too fancy and there weren't very many people as I hadn't expected but whatever; Here is where the waiter entered the picture. His name is Tony. He's a dark-hair, average to tall in height and clearly overweight. It took him nearly half an hour to take our order. Our order consisted of one item from the specials, one item from the "chef's favorites" category and a butter salmon with the house salad and a simple moscato. Tony didn't like what we were ordering. He wanted us to order a different salmon. The salmon Tony wanted us to order has tarragon an a type of cream sauce. My husband doesn't like tarragon. After going on and on about how we REALLY SHOULD order the tarragon salmon and receiving no response from any of us he started with the next question asking how we would like to receive our food and I responded "as they come out". Tony's response was "all at the same time? ok." Then he started to walk away at which point he stopped to turn around and confirm that we were getting the tarragon salmon at which point I responded with a simple "no, just the butter salmon with the salad". His response is "oh, I already wrote down tarragon" as he spoke to me in a demeaning tone as if he was a parent who was very annoyed at a child.... and that look of disapproval :( I felt guilty and uncomfortable at that point but I didn't have the heart have my family walk out of the restaurant and start all over with finding a new restaurant and traveling there with the possibility to not like something again. So there I sat, and no one talked until Tony our waiter came back and asked what do you want the salmon with? To my shock and with utter disbelief in my eyes, I told him the salad. The look he gave me was of a total diva looking down on an outsider. Wow. This guy clearly didn't like me and when he asked with which sauce my husband chimed in and politely said with a smile that any will do and that we would definitely try the tarragon salmon the next time we come. SO, there we all sat in uncomfortable silence for nearly an hour before our food arrived and ALTOGETHER....so not the "as they come off the stove" type. So, we didn't end up sharing as much as we had planned to do so, no one was in the mood. Long story short, The food was great but the service spoke volumes as to why we were only one of 4 table here on a Saturday night with only our friend Tony to "wait" on everyone. Some tables seemed to get constant attention but the only attention we got was the water and plate guy. When our food did get here Tony took my clean silverware away seemingly on purpose to which I finally changed my tone and said, "so what, I don't get a fork now either?" He looked at me a bit confused and after a pause said that he would get another one. Over lunch the following day my husband expressed how he feels and thoroughly believes that we were discriminated against and to his credit we are not white. He also made it clear that unfortunately we won't be going back, irregardless of the food :(...
Read moreRoccoVino’s holds & meets their high expectations! Walked in for a 7:30pm dinner on a Saturday night for a party of 3. The gentleman at the host stand was very friendly and welcoming. Before bringing us to our table, he went back to ensure it was clean and set up properly before escorting us. He was even polite enough to ask what dinnerware he can remove as there were 4, so he wasn’t rude to reach across anyone while we were get situated in our seats. We had the best waiter ever! His name was Neal and was the most polite waiter I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Just the way he presented himself was very impressive. He was all customer service oriented and made sure all our needs were met at all times. Never had to ask twice for anything and never showed he was bothered by our indecisiveness and need for extra time on deciding what to order. He introduced the specials of the night and made a very good wine selection when I asked him to bring me his best red wine. Shortly after, the manager approached our table to ensure we were so far satisfied and didn’t need anything. He also introduced and suggested special menu items. Even knowing of some food restrictions our party had, he was still able to accommodate and recommended some dishes. He went into detail of explaining what was in each and painted a great picture of what to expect. When Neal came back and took the order he was very good at explaining the sides that came with and made sure to highlight that they homemade their own salad dressings (which did not disappoint). Neal had a great personality and character to him. Fast forwarding to our meal, we ordered the stuffed calamari appetizer as an entree, chicken Parmesan and Bari Bacala. Presentation was on point and met the expectations that the manager had set when describing each dish prior to ordering. The best part was, the food was hot! You can tell each dish was made fresh and wasn’t like some restaurants have them sitting out before they’re brought to the tables. Food was authentic Italian. I wouldn’t have changed one thing about each dish. The Cod in the Bari Bacala was perfect, fell apart to the touch, and wasn’t over cooked. There were no leftovers at the end. The one thing I noticed is you were every waiters priority. We had the other waiter help clear empty plates and refill drinks which was very pleasing as a customer to know that no detail goes unnoticed and everyone there wants to ensure you have a memorable experience. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert, but after how good the food was, we’ll make sure to come back and save room for their homemade tiramisu. Overall our experience was far from disappointing. RoccoVinos is your authentic Italian kitchen without having to...
Read moreMy husband and I were set to order food here on Saturday evening and initially a very pleasant young lady answered the phone. Before we placed an order I asked if we could just have the tortellini with Italian sausage and creamy tomato sauce at which point she said "of course that can be done" and transferred me to the young lady taking the delivery orders. After waiting almost ten minutes on hold the young lady taking delivery orders gets on the phone and was nothing but combative regarding this order. I had explained to her the other young lady said this could be done and asked her if these were pre-made meals to which she said no. So I continued to ask her what then was the issue with making the tortellini with sausage and tomato sauce and why she was being combative with the order. If all ingredients are separate this should not be that difficult to fulfill. She huffed and puffed giving me the menu options for tortellini again, saying the option I wanted wasn't on the menu, and telling me to hold on etc. Finally we said you know what forget it we will place our order somewhere else to which she said ok! We called Marino's who had no problem filling the requested order with out blinking an eye. It's sad this restaurant would throw an order out the window, upset their customers and have your business not return to them in the future. They should really staff girls on the phone who aren't combative with their customers if they want to keep...
